Due to a change of plans, my husband and I will be driving from around Easton, PA to Brunswick, GA before stopping for the night. We will be taking the 78-81-77-26-95 route. I have a few questions.
1. Does anyone know roughly how much time it should take us to drive from Easton to Brunswick?
2. Can you recommend a safe, clean hotel close to the exit off 95 near Brunswick?
3. How long should it take us to complete the trip from Brunswick to WDW?
We will be meeting our sons, who are flying, in WDW and are trying to time our arrival close to theirs. Thanks!!

I live in Emmaus PA. we drove strait down 95. It is so much quicker then 81. Leave early in the morning and as long as you are south of DC by 7 you will have no problems.

Thanks but we can't leave too early due to other obligations. We'll be leaving about 7:00AM. That ride through Virginia on 81 is gonna be long.

How long does it actually take to drive to WDW? I've checked Mapquest and they give a 17-17.5 hr drive. How close is that estimate IRL? And how is the drive - boring? crazy busy areas (i.e. DC)? interesting scenery?

Here's what I can help with (long):
Going the 'inland' route you laid out, from the PA/NJ line to Brunswick, GA (which looks like it's located around MM 40 on I-95), is right at 900 miles (I have it at 940 to the GA/FL line). From Brunswick, that's going to leave you 230 miles to WDW the next day. The next day should take you 3.5 hours, if you don't hit traffic problems in Jacksonville or Orlando.
From here in NC, going to Allentown, is right about 8 hours for us. Add another .5 hours to Easton, give you a time est. of 8.5 hours up North, to go 543 miles. Heading South, it's 357 miles from Statesville, NC (I-77) to MM 40 (where I assume Brunswick to be near). We usually hit the GA/SC line in 4 hours, so add another hour, makes it 5.
Adding it all up, that's 13.5 hours of drive time, HOWEVER, our driving styles might not be the same. I keep it within 10 mph in VA due to their no radar detector situation, and within 10-15 mph elsewhere. Throw in an extra stop or two for gas, and I'd say 14.0 hours, without any sit-down meals or lengthy stops.
The area I see as problematic will be Charlotte, NC. Leaving at 7 a.m., you should slip through Charlotte just before 4 p.m., avoiding the rush hour traffic. But, if you get delayed on the route, or leave late, that may put you right into rush hour traffic there. It moves, but slowly. Once you clear Charlotte, you've got about 2 hours to Columbia, SC. That would usually be the only other place where traffic might pop up.

PM me if you need more info.

It is 17 hours... the drive sucks at times. Carolinas is mostly tree lined. If you leave early enough there is no traffic in DC
