Time Frame for invitations

How far in advance did you send the actual invitations? I was looking at sending them out Jan-Feb and asking for them back March-April. Does that seem too far in advance for an May wedding? I am wondering this because it will effect prices of everything, because there is the food, the favours, the size cake, the amount of drinks, etc. So I would like to know sooner rather than later on who I should be expecting to come to the wedding.

Etiquette says that you should send invites 4-6 weeks before the wedding. However, I dont think the etiquette people ever had a Disney wedding! My RSVP date is about 7 weeks before my wedding (RSVP by Dec 1 for Jan 26 wedding). I made my RSVP date early because I dont want to spend my entire Christmas holiday making a seating chart or figuring out final numbers. If people dont RSVP then someone needs to call and ask if they're coming. Disney sends Save The Dates out at 8 months or when you sign your contract, so people have had PLENTY of advance notice. The invitation is basically a technicality with Disney. Most people have decided long ago wether or not they'll be able to make it. I wanted to get mine out 3 weeks ago, but like I said in my PJ, I've had serious issues (probably caused by the gigantic level of stress im under!) and anyways invites probably wont get out until November 1st.

i'm waaaaaaaay behind, mostly because fmil hasn't gotten me her addresses yet

i'm sending them out next week, my rsvp date is dec 23 (which means i'm an idiot because if i was SMART then i would have done what kristen did and not ruined my holiday), my wedding is jan 24...

I sent mine out 2 months prior and I had sent save the dates.
