Time for SNA

We have a flight departing SNA at 6:45 AM on a Saturday in February. We are staying at the DLH and will be taking an Uber to the airport. What time should we plan to leave the airport to get there with enough time to check bags and get through security? I have heard it is a smaller, more easily navigated airport.

I find that SNA is usually very quick and easy so I tend to aim to have my uber pick me up 2 hours before my flight leaves. I allow about 30 minutes to get there (usually takes closer to 20-25) and the 30 minutes to check in, check baggage and get through security (I have small kids so am checking car seats etc. and have to have my stroller inspected at security so it is probably shorter than that for a regular person) and then 30 minutes to get done whatever in the terminal (bathroom, get snacks, get to gate etc) and then the flight boards 30 minutes before it actually departs. I usually end up with extra time in the terminal but I would rather a little extra time than rush too much especially with little kids

If I checking bags 45 min ahead of flight and usually end up sitting around for 40 of those minutes...its easy peasy.

I should add we didnt check bags. Only had carry-ons

Are you checking bags? Do you have TSA precheck? In general security at SNA is an efficient and fast moving process, you can walk from one end of the terminal to the other in under 10 minutes. The drive from DLH at that time of day should be less than 20 minutes. You should be safe leaving DLH @ 5:30 am assuming you don’t need to check bags. Maybe a bit earlier if you want to grab breakfast @ SNA.

I always arrive 2 hours ahead of time, so for a 6:45 am flight I'd leave the hotel at 4:30.

There's a Starbucks there and a few restaurants.
