OK....I am in the process of planning my second trip to Disney with my wife and two daughters, and to say that this experience has been a completely frustrating nightmare would be an understatement. I am one of those that enjoys the planning aspect....and last year I contacted an agent well in advance of the 500 day earliest time. I received a tentative quote, which was fine, as we were able to get a ballpark figure....but when the booking date came, she changed the dates of our stay and added features that we did not want - like the Park Hopper.

No prob - quick email to let her know of the corrections...and I get no response. What I DO get is spammed to heck and back with these mass emails she sends out, ranging from "Disney coloring sheets" to Disney tips. Great. But what about my reservation? Nothing. But hey! I DID get a spiffy pattern for making paper Mickey ears!

After several unreturned emails and calls, I finally managed to get her to correct the dates...but the Hopper still remained. No problem...after all, we aren't scheduled to arrive until 12/13, and it is only Sept, 2012. Lots of time, right? Well...after even more unreturned calls, emails, and texts....but quite the supply of disney coloring sheets, we finally get - nowhere.

Fast forward to late May, early June, as I want to hit that 180 day mark for dining reservations, and I send a list of requests to the agent...and a response back! "No problem!" she wrote. Great! But about that Hopper? Oh - no problem - I will get that removed. I finally thought that things were back on track....we are 184 days out from arrival, dates fine, dining reservations sent in, tickets all in order.

Until the first week of August, when I receive the final billing statement. And what do I see? Why...we are back to the ORIGINAL reservation, complete with the wrong dates and the wrong tickets. Over a year in planning, and we STILL do not have the right reservation! I quickly confirmed with Disney that the dates on that confirmation are, in fact, the ones they have listed...and off to the unresponsive emails, phone calls, and texts. Just yesterday, we finally got the right dates back on...but we still have the wrong tickets....and that is when I find out that none of the dining reservations have been made. Confirming with Disney today, we have no dining reservations, although the agent I spoke with did state that it is possible that the TA used a different number...but we tried the business phone, her phone, and her email, as well as my phone and my email...and there is nothing.

So. I already made the dining reservations that I could, save for the "Big One," that my daughters were really looking forward to...and that was dinner at Be Our Guest. I was given the helpful advice that people were booking that 180 days out and for the future, "I might want to consider booking as far in advance as possible."

Sigh. Any ideas?

Wow! Very frustrating!

What I would do is ditch the travel agent. Disney's reservation website is so easy to navigate. I don't know if you are able to just fire her and take over your own reservation, or if you need to make a new one and have her cancel whatever she made for you. Then you can manage your own account, your ADRs, ticket selection, etc. In terms of BOG, keep checking to see if something opens up. If you can't get dinner, you can still go there for the quick service lunch. It's a different menu but you still get to eat in Beast's castle. Good luck!
