Time for a new forum category for FP+ topics??

Is it time the FP+ topics get their own category? It seems as though a great majority in the theme park attractions/strategies forums are on this topic.....or possibly a new sub-forum? I enjoy reading them, but it seems to be big enough topic for its own area and may expand the comments made on ideas besides FP+.

This has been suggested many times.

The situation remains that FP+ is just about the most complex pivotal issue
to affect theme parks to come along in years, and it is interwoven into
just about any aspect of park planning...
which is the focus of this forum.

I'd like to see a locked sticky about FP+ at the top of the board. While I enjoy reading the many FP+ threads (even though they drive my anxiety about our Oct. trip through the roof :worried: ), they are all so long that any actual information about FP+, or changes that have occurred, are buried within the multiple pages of the thread. While mesaboy2 has done a nice job with his thread/links, it'd still be MUCH easier to find the up-to-date FP+ info if it was in a moderated sticky at the top of the page.

Agree! :thumbsup2

I have been a frequent Disney World visitor for quite some time and a frequent contributor to these boards. However, I have not been to Disney World with all the Fast Pass + and Magic Band issues. I don't have a current trip planned but am warming up to one quick trip. I am an Annual Passholder so that's not an issue. Our trip will probably be offsite since it will only be for a weekend.

That being said, I am now delving into the Fast Pass + and Magic Bands (I know, at this time, I can't get one) issues. I have found it to be sort of a strain to weed through all the posts but I've done it and know I just need to take my RFID Annual Pass to a kiosk at a park and get Fast Pass + for the day.

However, I am learning about how to do my visits in the future where I'm not staying offsite and will be on Disney property. Not stuff I need now but things I will need in the future. If I don't visit for six months, according to the wishes of this thread, I would have to go out to a locked thread and figure out through everything posted there what I needed.

I think the request for a thread only for Fast Pass + is not a wise one for the first time or second time or third time visitors here. Or for someone who hasn't been to Disney World for a while.

And the other thing - people re searching for answers in one place for their problems, we sent them off to a locked thread for their admission to the parks?

I don't think that a locked thread would be beneficial because this topic will continue to evolve for some time, but a separate category for FP+ Magic Bands, and MDE would make it easier for users to hone in on their particular area of concern.

Here now, no issue with my magic and or FP+ besides lack of fastpasses.

No one worry, I read on the DIS boards prior to my arrive of the horrors of using both, I have been here for 4 days so far and no experienced any problems or blue mickeys, no missing pictures on my memory maker.

Though it is a bit of a pain not being able to get multiple FPs in a day. It hasn't been that bad. Though here in Jan/Feb, I don't know how it will pan out in a busy season. Seemed to be a bit longer stand by line ups.

Good luck everyone. Don't be scared of change :)

But that means the frequent guests know where to go. Someone new on the boards, which is encouraged, asks a question about FastPass +, their thread gets shut down with a message of "look on the looked thread here" and that new person had to wade though hundreds if not thousands of posts.

I have been a frequent Disney World guest but haven't been since FastPass +. Next trip won't be onsite and I am an Annual Passholder. Somehow, I have found what I needed to know in order to make sure I know what I'm doing next month. I just click on the threads that I think will help me and if they don't, I go somewhere else.
