Okay, I just got through reading the thread about people who were expressing their anger at Pete for not doing a podcast when he was sick.
I am not going to touch on that, go read that post if you need to know.
I think it's time for a "Hug-Fest" Thread
Before I explain how this is going to work let me first give my disclaimer.
"Heretofore and forthwith let be known to all that I, papamouse aka Petraman, am not currently running for political office in Southern Florida and I am not sucking up to steal your votes. Also , let it be known that I am not currently seeking employment with the DIS or any of its subsidiaries. (although that does sound kind of fun). I have received no financial considerations from DIS or "the crew" to entice me to make the following statements. Let it be known that all who respond in this thread do so without coersion, from the bottom of their hearts, and with just a little sprinkle added in to make it truly Disney worthy. So say we all!"
Allright, now that we have all the legalities out of the way, here is what I would like to suggest for all of us here to do. I would like each and every one of us to just take a moment and share just how much the DIS podcast means to us. Maybe share a personal time when the podcast put a little more of
in your day. How does it help you cope... whatever you feel like saying. I know this may seem way too sappy for some and that's cool. Just say "Thanks" however works for you! Will you join me?
I'll go ahead and get it started...
I work in an incredibly stressful job. Recent studies have shown that it is one THE most stressful jobs in America. I deal with people in crisis all the time. My biggest single escape is Disney. My DW and DD's think I need professional help for my Disney addiction. But the fact is I don't have the $$ and live way too far to make Disney a destination more than once a year (of course I would love to break that rule if anyone wants to hide me in their suitcase for any of the upcoming ABD trips to Anaheim). But here's the thing, I don't have to go to WDW to get that Disney getaway experience. Just about every week I get to sneak off and let my mind take a trip without leaving the farm (any of you old enough to remember that song?). I spend time with my DIS family on the podcast. I confess I have probably 5 different podcasts I subscribe to about Disney. They are informative and enjoyable in their own ways, but none compares to the DIS podcast. When you guys get talking, joking, and certain people ranting abut the damn lakes and such (and you know who you are) I genuinely feel like I am there with you. Seriously, you make us all feel like you have welcomed perfect strangers into your family. Just like family, we don't always agree and sometimes maybe we even feel like taking you out behind the woodshed
.
But good or bad we feel welcome in your home and in your life. Yes, this is a business for you, but clearly it is so much more.
Thank you for just being you no matter what. Don't change a thing!
....... OK now its your turn, don't leave me hanging here like some sap. Tell these friends of ours how much you appreciate them.
