Timandlesley's November PTR: No Kids/No Judging : ) TR UP, Link pg.13!!!

Do you have the TiW card? If you do, I wouldn't bother with the dining plan. We did the dining plan in August for the third time and won't ever do it again. I love the flexibility of paying OOP and thought the TiW discount was a better deal. And with TiW, you get the discount on adult beverages too ;)

When Charles and I went last October, we didn't do the dining plan. We didn't do the dining plan in July, either. It was actually very nice to order what we wanted and not have to worry about conforming to the dining plan rules.

Lesley-- I found the link that is what I marked for you in my first response for the report you could not find...

I'm in, you'll have a wonderful trip....no guilt.. My kids are getting older and they actually got excited for us when my husband and I took a weekend beach trip for our anniversary. The best gift you can give your kids is a happy marriage/home life. :)

I can't wait to hear about your trip on so many levels!
1. No kids!
2. Boardwalk!
3. Food and Wine Festival!
4. Christmas Decorations!
5. Drinks around the World!
I have always wanted to do all five so I am so happy for you.

BTW, I am having a Disney Bootcamp or "Mousinar" for a few of my friends who are Disney beginners. Your trip reports are going to be required reading!:cheer2:

The Boardwalk is a great "no kids" resort choice. DH and I have only been kid-free and I am taking my daughter for the first time in a little over a week. Sounds like the dining plan may not make the most sense if you want to eat mainly sit down lunches and have meals open to just snack around the world. That is what I plan on doing and will just get the Tables in Wonderland card. Can't wait to hear more!

We have often found the flexibility to not have the dining plan is really nice - and often we spend less money because we truly would not eat THAT many desserts normally. Then with the TiW it's an even bigger savings.

However, with the F&W festival, and the items being snack credits, it might be a good choice. The F&W snacks are pretty pricey, most are $4 or even more it seems, so they are a good use of a credit. If you are going to be "eating around the world" it might be a good idea and pay for itself there. Perhaps the QSDP, so you could do breakfast & dinner covered with it, then pay OOP for your table lunches? You get 2 snacks per day on the QSDP, which will come in very handy during F&W!

Also, have you heard the "new" perk for DVC members with the flexible dining plan? There are a few threads about it on the DVC boards here - apparently, in some sort of fashion, starting October 14, we will be able to choose to only have the dining plan certain days of our vacation and won't need to do it every day...so you could just choose it for your F&W snack days, or the very expensive OOP meals. I'm not sure how it's all going to work, a few people have confirmed the facts with DVC (not sure how they did that???), so it seems legit, but how it's going to actually work is still up in the air.

I would recommend the dining plan, just because at the food and wine festival almost all of the food choices are a snack option! Since most of them cost at least $4 - 10 for one little serving, getting them as a snack is so worth the dining plan money!! Plus with the dining plan you get a dessert with the meal, if you like dessert that is! In my opinion the dining plan is worth it during the f&w festival. :thumbsup2
i think we may go ahead and do it since we don't have the Tables in Wonderland card, that would be a good use of snack credits!

No, we don't have it, does sound good though.

Well, the verdict is still out, I'll let you know what we decide, thanks for the advice.

Hi Dis friends. Just wanted to post a prayer request for those of you who are of the praying type.
I have been having some abdominal pain and was out of work on Friday and Monday I had an ultrasound done, well the results came in today and they have found a small mass in my liver and right kidney. I go in for a CT scan at the hospital tomorrow morning and then to my doctor tomorrow afternoon. Of course we are praying for the best but to say we aren't scared/ worried would be a huge understatement. Thanks guys!!!
On a MUCH more positive note...... Lauren is turning 7 on Monday (unbelievable!!!) and my mom's gift to her was Disney Princess' on ice tomorrow night, so Lauren, my mom and I are headed to see that tomorrow night, should be fun!
Good night all!
-Lesley

Lesley, Hang in there. You will most definitely be in my prayers
because yes I am a believer. Keep your chin up, I'm sure everything
will turn out ok. God Bless!!:littleangel::grouphug:

Oh...not good. I will be praying! Whatever happens, you have a great Healer, who I know you believe in as well! Please keep us posted.

Oh Lesley I will be praying for you. Glad you enjoyed going back in time for your report... too quick they grow.

Enjoy Princesses on Ice!

I absolutely will be praying for you. It is times like this that show God what we are made of, and whether we truly trust Him and have real faith. My DD's Bible verse that she has to learn for school this week is perfect for you:

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

Please keep us posted!

I'll be praying for you!

It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect.
Psalm 18:32

You are in my thoughts and prayers. :flower3:

And, on that more positive note, Happy Birthday to our daughter :cheer2:! Have a great time at the ice show!

Lesley, I just read that these masses are usually benign! Plus you are so young, very, very unlikely anything major going on. I really believe it will end up being okay! :)

Please keep us posted!
