Tim Tebow

This is from post ten....
Way overrated.
I wonder if she still thinks that way...lol

That was an awesome football game yesterday. I would rank that one right up there with game six of the world series. But still behind the epic Canada vs USA gold medal hockey game in Vancouver.

:confused3 You might want to catch up on how that whole story played out.

Anyhoo... I am glad Tebow and the Broncs won, but I think I might have a had a more religious experience watching Brees and and the Saints take the first step toward the Super Bowl. :goodvibes

Not that I think it will happen, but I sure would love to see Tebow go to Lostachussets and steal Darth Hoodie's mojo. :cool1:

I find your lack of faith disturbing. The ability of Tim Tebow is insignificant next to the potential of the Hoodie.

No they shouldn't.

I believe that was said tongue in cheek. ;)

While I may not believe Ben should be in jail, he's done enough over the years that I feel like I can't root for him, especially given how ownership, who usually won't stand for such behaviors, didn't do much about it. Sorry to get off topic. Now back to the Tebow loving and hating.

I agree with the above post, I am not a fan of 'big ben' The Steelers like to be a 'tough' team lead by guys like Harrison(another I am not a fan of), but at some point there machismo has to let up. Why did Ben play the last 2 reg season games? To be the fifth seed? This choice to play him them and not heal his high ankle sprain may well have cost Pit. the game yesterday.

All this and the numerous non calls, and you arent going to win. The Denver Oline had more Steeler Jersey in their hands then the Pro Shop at Heinz Field.

Pitt was horrible.

Are you really suggesting that Pittsburgh was on the wrong end of the officiating? I am not sure what game you were watching but it seems you missed the call that almost cost Denver the game.

In the third quarter (Denver leading 20-6) Ben R. threw what was clearly a backwards pass. It hit the ground and Denver recovered. Unfortunately, the official blew the whistle and did not permit play to continue. The official wrongfully ruled the pass incomplete (instead of a fumble/live ball) and to make matters worse Denver could not challenge the play (because of the official's mistake.)

If called correctly Denver would have had the ball at the Pittsburgh 20. Instead, Pittsburgh drives for a touchdown to make it a seven point game.

I assume you also missed the two blalant facemask incidents against Tebow in the fourth quarter that were not called.

There were numerous calls that were missed. As I said, that Oline's technique of using both hands to grab jersey and throw Dlinemen is awesome. Numerous times the replay focused on it. It wasnt just an Olinemen either, it was several. This was a consistent protection technique used all game. How many "holding" penalties were called? That protection Tebow enjoyed was INCREDIBLE!

There were several calls that were missed that did cost the game.

This is happens more often then not. The official missed the call and blew the whistle. Had the whistle not blown, recovery of the ball would be undetermined. Blowing the whistle stops players. Yes a missed call, like the pass interference call on Antonio Brown that would have been a first down at the 20, instead of a field goal.

When I first saw them go out of bounds, I didnt see the mask. The replay showed the masks. Maybe the angle of the official (behind the play) prevented him from seeing them. Unlike the backfield judge who watches backfield all game.

Then there was the "late hit" which contributed to the Denver TD. Late my shiney white..... Ben took several hits like that, one was a pile driver, no call. When Harrison hits a QB like that, it is 15 yards.

I sure do. :)

Sour grapes much?

I watched the game with my mom, who is a huge Big Ben fan. And she had no complaints about the officiating. I also like how you skirt around and say the posession of the fumbled ball was "undetermined". Right.

Face it, the Steelers were playing injured and couldn't compete. It happens. As one of the announcers said last night, that isn't an excuse, it is a fact. But it happens, and sometimes you lose because of it.

I like your points. However, considering all the breaks the Steelers got during a certain Super Bowl, I will cheer any penalty they get that keeps them out of the playoffs. Yes, I still carry a grudge, but it only surfaces at this time of year, or when they play Seattle. :)

And the Steelers had way more facemasks in their hands, and not just on Tebow. The facemask non calls are being discussed in Denver with lots of playback videos.

But it is all good. The Broncos still won despite the refs.

Not a big Tim Tebow fan, but here is some trivia from the game:

Tebow's favorite passage in the Bible is John 3:16, so much so that he often puts "John 3:16" on his eyeblack patches.

Against the Steelers, he threw for 316 yard. Completed 10 passes for an average of 31.6 yards per pass.
