Tim Tebow.

We saw that last night and thought that really had to hurt. Not only the blow to the chest, but what happened to his head as he fell. He had a very stunned looked on his face for quite a while after the incident.

That is super scary. Sad really. He didn't need to be hurt like that.

I didn't watch the game (I was at Epcot) and I'm not a fan in general.

From what I've heard, and it could be wrong, but he was left in the game after they had a considerable lead before he was hit. All this after he had to fly a separate jet to the game because he also has h1n1.

It seems like an 'anything to win' coaching decision. Which I loathe. But I also didn't see it so I could be wrong.

I hope he is ok. He has all the promise in the world.

The game was 31-0 after the 1st QUARTER! And the injury happened during the 3rd. He should have been out at halftime at the latest.

Obviously, I am soooooooo not a Gator fan, but that injury was super scary! Tebow is an incredible player, but much more than that, he is an excellent role model for young kids. He is truly a "stand up" kind of guy, and I really hope he is going to be just fine.

One of my friends, who is a Gator fan, was being cocky and razzing me pretty hard after OU lost to BYU, when Sam Bradford had been knocked out of the game with a shoulder sprain. I simply said to her, "You know, consider yourself fortunate. All it takes is ONE bad hit..."

Of course, I agree with everyone that there was absolutely no need for him to be in the game at that point, especially considering his bout with the flu. The game was well in hand, and they have a very competent backup QB. Now, I just hope they give him ample time to recover, and not try to rush him back into playing. Concussions are serious business, and after having this major one, he will be much more susceptible to having another.

He was still in the game because the game was still going on. It was the third quarter, and Kentucky is an SEC team.

In the SEC, you NEVER take for granted that some team can't really turn it around. It happens ALL the time in that conference. Teams easily score 30 points a quarter when they get hot.

Here's hoping that he's already on the mend and will be fine soon.

This.

And anyone who knows anything about Tim will tell you that you couldn't keep him off the field with "only" the flu. He finished playing a game in High School after breaking a leg.

Unconfirmed reports say he is doing okay, laughing and joking with visitors this morning at the hospital and is expected back home in Gainesville this afternoon.

that's what happens when your coach is a @%$@# that likes to run up the score on people. No way Tebow should have been in the game at that point.

Really people, you think Kentucky was going to come back in the 2nd half?? This wasn't Alabama, Georgia or Auburn they were playing. It was time for the b/u QB to be in there.

Tebow released from Kentucky hospitalComment Email Print Share ESPN.com news services

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida Gators quarterback Tim Tebow was released from a Lexington, Ky., hospital Sunday morning, about 12 hours after taking a hard hit to the head against Kentucky.

Tebow

Coach Urban Meyer said Sunday that Tebow sustained a concussion when he was sacked by defensive end Taylor Wyndham in the third quarter Saturday night in a 41-7 win. Tebow's head struck teammate Marcus Gilbert's leg, violently bending his neck forward.

"Tim is doing fine this morning," Meyer said in a statement. "His CT scans came back and indicated that Tim suffered a concussion. Our medical and athletic training staff will continue to monitor him to determine how much rest and recovery he needs. We will have additional information and updates this week."

Tebow was coherent and joking with hospital visitors earlier Sunday morning.

Tebow, Meyer and several members of the team's medical staff were expected to return home with the 2007 Heisman Trophy winner later Sunday.

Information from The Associated Press and ESPN.com's Chris Low was used in this report.

So is it time to gear up for a Cincinnati vs Texas BCS Championship?

I'm glad reports have him doing better. Head injuries, even minor concussions, are always scary.

It doesn't matter to me if Tebow wanted to play. I bet he did. However, the coach should have known better. Who's in charge, the coach or the QB?

I saw the game, and that hit was really bad. I couldn't believe they let him sit on the sidelines as long as they did before they took him to the hospital. One of the announcers made a comment about Tebow "loosing his lunch" and then you finally saw him in the ambulance. All I kept thinking about was Natasha Richardson.

If you've watched Gator football for 30 plus years, you know that anything can happen in the SEC.

It's rare for first string quarterbacks to come out in SEC games until sometime in the fourth quarter, even in blowout situations.

I've never thought of Urban Meyer running up the score. That's more of a Steve Spurrier thing.

can you give me a link or his medical records that says he has H1N1?

Many prayers for Tim Tebow...he did not look right after that hit...and what is worse the UK team cheering on the sidelines while he was DOWN, I can understand the immediate cheering for the sack, but while he was not able to get up was awful....shameful that they are an SEC team to me.

Yes, I have access to Tim Tebow's medical records.

Let's see the team said he had a sever respiratory illness, media outlets have been reporting that he and other team members were so ill that they had to take a separate flight to the game as to not risk infecting the rest of the team.

Is it publicly confirmed as h1n1? No but I certainly don't know of any other sever contagious respiratory illnesses going around right now. Do you?

h1n1 or not the guy was sick enough to require a separate jet to the game so he was hardly playing clear headed.

Who cares if it was the SEC or another conference? I'm not accusing the coach of running up the score. However he had an ill player who, while playing well, was not at the top of his game. They had a comfortable lead at the half. So IMO, he could have and should have sat Tebow. Let the kid rest, preserve energy, get some oxygen or whatever and put him back in for the 4th if things were going down hill.

I didn't see the game. However it is my understanding that Kentucky isn't really a great team that FL was going to need every trick available to beat.

I get it, your a Gator fan. Then you, of all people, should want your star player healthy as can be instead of spending the night in a hospital with a head injury.

you stated he had H1N1, I was just asking for some sort of proof since you knew for sure that was his diagnosis.

whatever, why does it matter? I felt bad for the kid. Was worried that he could have had career ending injury before I knew the extent. I said in my 1st post that I was at Epcot yesterday.

Let's see all the news sources yesterday that I saw said he had the flu....h1n1 is the flu. His roommate has been confirmed with the flu, it really isn't a stretch to believe his 'respitory illness' is the flu or h1n1.
