Hey Steve, we booked a Lagoon View Concierge Room at the Poly. I requested smoking which will put us on the 3rd floor. We have stayed in GV Concierge but never the Lagoon side and with our 2 daughters we wanted to be if possible by the Lounge. What room number should I request. I've already talked to the Concierge Staff at the Poly and they said they would do their best for my requests. Should I do anything more. Here is what we requested. Smoking, close to the lounge, and the best view of the castle. In that order. Thanks for your time. Hope to hear from you, Chip. PS hope this doesn't sound like we're being to picky.

I am not Tikiman, but your requests don't sound unreasonable to me. But you do have to realize that the more requests you put in, the fewer rooms they have to fit them. I probably would just let the concierge assign me a room that fits my requests best. If you ask for a specific room, it may not be available for the day you check in. Just some thouhghts.

the only requests I always put in is "NO SMOKING and QUEEN BEDS" as far as tthe view I take what I get and I get great views. th e poly I got 2nd floor, non smoking and I think it was room 2725 or 2517. the end of the hallway, the 2nd to last door and what a view we had of the castle. Good luck, I think no matter what room you get they are all good:bounce:

It's not necessary to request room numbers, in fact it's probably not a good idea. If you want "close to the lounge", then request precisely that! With smoking LV Concierge they already only have one row of rooms to work with.

I would shoot for room 3505. There are pictures of the view on my Hawaii page. THe view is great and is only a few rooms away from the lounge. The first room from the lounge (3rd floor) would be 3501 then in order down to 3518 for a lagoon view. I am sure they will do their best to get you a great room.

Aloha

Steve

Dear Steve (a.k.a Tikiman),

I also have a few questions for you on the Polynesian Resort if you don't mind! :D

My FH and I will be staying at Poly with a garden view room during our honeymoon at WDW. Based on what we have learned from your wonderful website, we would like to request Tahiti as the first choice and Tokelau as the second option. I would like to know whether that is a safe bet for a honeymoon couple.

Also, we would like to request room on the third floor of these buildings for more privacy. Is there any elevator in these longhouses?

And I would like to whether the beach behind Tahiti is easily accessable and how far that beach is from Tokelau.

Thank you very much for your help!

Jean

I think I would go with Tokelau as the first choice. It has better garden views. Not that Tahiti garden views are bad but Tokelau has some that actually have views of the lagoon. There are elevators in all longhouses except Niue. I would put in a request for a 3rd floor room. The only thing that may do is limit your chances of getting a room on the end near the lagoon because there may not be any 3rd floor rooms open on that end. When you get there and check in try to have them show you what is available and go for a room in the range of X910-X920 (put in a floor number for the “X”. The beach next to Tahiti is right at the end of Tokelau also.Aloha

Steve

Thanks everyone for your great advice!! Hey Tikiman I talked with concierge again and told them the room numbers and they assured me that they will do their best, which I'm sure they will. Thanks again everyone!!!! Chip.
