Tiki Treasures Thread

.... these posts bring back bad memories. Unless I have to, i'm never going to try to get into a hosted trade room.

No one will force you, lol. Maybe for some, it's best they don't even bother to get in line. :)

Oh for crying out loud, how do you run out of a VIRTUAL pin???? :confused3 I'm sorry, but this is getting ridiculous...

Last weekend I got into Hula's room and DC'ed as we were trading. So no pin.

Last night I got in Phinny's room/line 4 times. I stayed up very very late.

DC with 1 person in line for the room
DC with 3 ppl in line for the room
DC in room with 2 ppl ahead of me
DC in room with 5 ppl ahead of me

I am not a happy VMK'er - the line takes forever to move. :furious:

My computer gets the dreaded DC from VMK every 20 to 30 minutes. Last night, it lasted 40 minutes. I'd just gotten out of the room, gone to Castle Forecourt, put my pin on and was admiring it when I DCed. Only thing I did different was I went straight to the Guest Rooms list from log on and when I finally got in the room, I didn't say a word. No emoticons, no "lol," no nothing until I got in trade with Phinny. There were a few people there who were talking a lot and then DCed. No idea if that's a coincidence or not, but I think it made a believer out of me, LOL.

I've been either lucky or a rabid clicker when it comes to getting in these host rooms, I've got into everyone I have tried the last week or so.

I do what Donald does, and just log on and go straight into guest rooms, no going into vmk rooms or lobbies, it does seem to help with dc.

Oh, brag, brag, brag... :rolleyes1 LOL! Go back to your fireworks game, Mad, and let us "DC'ers" have a chance at that pin! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

On second thought, stay out of the fireworks games too because Pink ALWAYS does so much better when YOU are not playing in the same game! ROFL!

I eventually got in line, got in the room and was able to trade for the Tiki pin. Holy cow! This was my first time ever to successfully trade with VMK staff! Don't give up cat, it can be done.

Afraid not, I was in line on Friday for the trade room, I feel pretty sure I would have been one of the earlier ones in to get a staff tiki pin, but not only did I dc, my whole computer went black. Nothing I did could start it again. My husband was out of town so I had to wait to Monday before I could get the computer into the shop and have the power supply replaced.

This is more sad then normal because I love all kinds of tiki things. I have collected them for many years. We had a luau tiki party for our 10th wedding anniverary and a friend made us a 4 foot tall tiki for the back yard. My husband made us a tiki bar. I have all kinds of little tikis I have collected and lots of other Hawaii themed items. I have spend hundreds of hours searching the web for tiki items.

Did you know they have Tiki conventions in various parts of the USA? I want to go sometime.

i am a tad concerned that i do not see anymore trade events coming up involving tiki pins. has anyone heard anything else? if i can get another '63 tiki room opens pin, it will have your name on it cat_herder. i cannot let another fellow tikiphile down. :)

ps: (sorry off topic) but the big hukilau is going to happen in october at the mai kai...which is in your part of the world cat_herder. this promises to be the biggest tiki event yet since the mai kai is going to be celebrating its 50th year! also, are you a tiki mug collector as well?
