I asked this on the personal campfire thread but didn't get an answer - so I'll try again :)

When we were at FW a couple weeks ago, the site across from us was sportin' some nifty tiki torches. We were on our way out of the Fort when I noticed them so I didn't ask, but are those allowed? There was a sign at the CS that said fires were prohibited - does that include the lovely tikis?

I think that I saw someone answer this question in a previous thread. I believe that the poster had said that the torches are NOT allowed. I'm sure someone will be along shortly to verify. :)

Were they actual fire tiki torches?? Fire torches are not allowed.

Lowes/Home Depot sometimes carries battery operated torches.

Please see the last sentence under item three of the public notices here:

This rule has been in effect for a while.

And, for good reason.

Thank you very much. I must have missed that very clear sentence when I was reading over the notices :)

These were open, burning torches - 4 of them that I saw. We were on our way out of the fort, but I'm guessing someone probably came along and told them to put them out since they are forbidden.

I've brought tiki torches to the Fort and set them out one time in the past. A CM came by the campsite and asked me to take them down so no, they aren't allowed.

PS-But I do love the look of them burning at night!

We have some nifty solar tiki torches out on our site right now.

Those are nice, looking for some to take to Bonnaroo!
I've seen previous posts about the solar torches here where an overzealous CM would come by and demand they be put out since they look like real flames. Bet they feel stupid when they find out they are LED...:rotfl2: or maybe not...

Bonnaroo also allows NO open flames as it is a tent city and you literally have to step over the site next to yours if in the tent area. That's why I book an RV pass and take the T@B, you're allowed more room.
One of the 'kids' going to the festival posted question on the Bonnaroo forum about having open fires, my bud posted back not allowed, it would be like when Mrs Oleary's cow knocked the lamp over. She didn't know what the Chicago Fire was! I guess if it isn't on Facebook or Twittered nowadays they don't know history.
