Tiggerdad trip report (6/8 - 6/15)

Well...the Disney countdown meter has now reached 1 day, so it's time to start my first trip report. We pull out around 9pm tonight so the girls (all 4 of them) can sleep, which will allow me more peace and quiet.

I will do my best to keep it up to date, might be a little hard with it being my first trip to the Fort, but I'll do my best.

Thanks to those of you who have given me a wealth of knowledge about planning this thing out, especially BamaEd for the easier directions to get into the Fort.

Time to take a nap...

We made it in around 11:30, rain from Tally all the way down. Quit when we came into the Fort just long enough to get setup. Got site 420 which was a little difficult backing into, but we made it in finally. I will upload some pics later, but gonna tour around first when the rain stops. One good thing is that this site seems to have more shade than some of the others around me. This place looks great so far.

I brought everything but a canoe...it set back into raining and has not stopped. Maybe better weather tomorrow. We didn't have park tickets for today so we spent the wet weather riding the boat and monorail since niece had never been on either of them. Outdoor program was washed out as well, so we are in camper eating popcorn and watching Lion King. Always tomorrow...

Time for some pics, here is the site we are on (420)

Remember I said it had a good shade oak...well the oak seems to be a home to at least 6 squirrels. They are very active, but not very good and staying in trees. At least twice we have heard a loud thud on the roof and gone out to see an embarrassed squirrel sitting on the roof trying to look innocent. They do seem to have a taste for white bread, but don't like wheat bread.

We got up yesterday and went to the Magic Kingdom for rope drop. We intended to return for a nap and dinner but instead stayed all day until the end of Wishes last night. That is why I am sitting on the porch at Crockett's enjoying the quiet view. (the girls are still sleeping) I really like this porch, gotta make sure I get some pics of it before we leave.
The rain set back in on us for about an hour or so while we were at the park, but we took shelter under the fastpass station at Jungle Cruise. The castmembers were really good and blew bubbles so the kids could play and the adults could sit on the ground and rest.

Here is myself, my wife, and our two girls...

Heading to Hollywood Studios so I can catch Star Wars Weekend while we are here. Plan on spending most of the day there today. I lost my first day at the Fort due to rain, but will tour this place over completely on Wednesday and get some pics. Overall it is great.

Great day at SWW, one year old actually laughed and played with one of the sand people (proud dad). By the end of the day my 6 year old owned a light saber (purple of course). Big storm came in around 9pm, so we ran back to campsite...only to find my canopy ripped, torn loose from camper, and twisted on the ground (sigh). Not sure what to think now. I will send the family to Animal Kingdom tomorrow while I figure out what to do.
