Just curious as to why Epcot has the fast pass rides on a tiered system and Magic kingdom and AK are not? Especially now with Frozen Every After, Soaring and Test Track as a tier 1 ride it's hard to pick just one of them to make everybody in the family happy! Good thing Magic kingdom does not have a tiered system for fast passes. Can you imagine trying to pick between Space Mountain , 7Dmt, or Splash Mountain or even Pirates of the Caribbean and just be able to pick 1 of that group.

Hollywood Studios is tiered as well. It's because it and Epcot have fewer attractions, several of which are headliners. Before FP+, you could get as many FASTPASSes as you could collect and it didn't matter what ride they were for. Now I guess it's to level the playing field.

as PP said. HS is tiered.

i think epcot needs to consider downgrading a tier 1 because there's not much in the tier 2 that even needs a FP+ to begin with.

at least at HS TOT is a tier 2.

It's a capacity issue. Neither Epcot nor DHS has enough rides to offer FP+ without tiers. The headline attractions book up too far in advance without tiers.

At Epcot now everyone would FP TT/Soarin'/FEA. Then people who would otherwise go to Epcot would not as those FP are already taken and work against their goal of distributing crowds among the parks. This policy results in more people going to Epcot, and once you are there do some other things.
