Tide He in regular washer?

I made a mistake at Costco and purchased Tide He instead of regular Tide. I can't find the receipt so I'm stuck with it. Can I use it in my regular washer?

I am pretty sure that Costco and look up your receipt with your membership card, so you can still return it. I remember reading in the thread about pots & pans returns that they looked up a receipt using the membership card.

I don't think it's a problem to use He detergent in a regular washer. The He detergent is supposed to cause less suds.

If you chose to use it, I don't know how you would figure out how much to use. It is designed to be used with a very low water amount, so it might not work as well if you use the regular amount diluted into the 20 or so gallons it takes to fill your regular washer.

I return to Costco without receipts all the time. They look it up in the computer.

You could use it. I had a washing machine repair man tell me that the soap companies tell you to use way too much detergent in your machines anyway and that if we all used half or even a quarter of the amount our machines would run better for longer.

I have a front loading and use regular detergent and use about a quarter the amount it calls for in the regular loading machine. Clothes come out just fine. I use half the HE amount called for.

My next project is to make my own detergent! As soon as what I have runs out.
