Hi all! I won't bore you with a long drawn out trip report. Instead I will just give some notable tid-bits.
This was our first trip to the HH Resort. Although the resort was great, and up to Disney standards in every way, it's not what I expected. Don't get me wrong, we enjoyed our visit, but all pictures I have seen of the resort lead me to think this resort was "by itself". Instead, the resort seemed almost inter-twined with the surrounding resorts and businesses.
We found a great restaurant called Crane's Tavern.
Our highlight was renting bikes and riding 20+ miles, mostly on the beach.
We found the Beach House to be a great idea for a resort not on the beach.
Vero Beach was fantastic, and well manicured. The beach access was almost finished. It appears they have moved it closer into the resort so it will not take a pounding from the surf.
The view from the cottage was totally different. As you know, there is no longer a dune in front of the bottom floor of most cottages. The two cottages on the north end appeared to still have some dune and vegetation. It also appeared that they have replanted vegetation in front of all cottages (seedlings).
VWL did not disappoint. We had a great view, and a totally different floor plan. We had dedicated 2br #3519. The floor plan had pluses and minuses versus the standard, but overall we enjoyed the variety. We loved the third floor, and the location. The room is right in the atrium area.
Miscellaneous-
- Parks were in GREAT shape, and we enjoyed Soarin.
- We were told the pools (at least at VWL/WL) are now open 24 hours.
- DDE letter worked like a charm.
