Is it every year that the $399 pap deal is out there or something like it?

In the past we got a discount on the regular AP. This is the first time for the PAP.

Perks come and go as Disney sees fit.

DVC members have received discounts on WDW Annual Passes and Premium Annual Passes since 2005. For most of that period, the discounts were $100 off the list price of an adult AP and $125 off the adult PAP.

When ticket prices increased in June '12 they also increased the discount amounts a bit. Net prices after that June increase were $452 for the AP and $595 for the PAP. These prices each represent savings of about $150 off the normal price.

The $399 PAP ($425 with tax) is a special offer only good until 12/31/12. Disney / DVC has never offered a limited-time additional discount like that, to the best of my knowledge.

On 1/1/13 the member PAP price goes back up to $595. No way of knowing if we'll ever see an offer like that again.

We ordered APs for the first time this summer (pick up at will call for our trip in October) instead of th PAP (price is getting very high) prior to the price increase. We had a trip last week and were going to use the tickets for last week. But with the $399 PAPs, we went ahead and bought them at the parks and still have the APs for next year (or the year after). This price was too good to pass up.

DVC hasn't gotten a deal like this before.

And if you're planning to go after the year is up, buy one for now and a voucher for next year, to redeem by 12/31/13

It would certainly be nice and an extreme breath of fresh air if they continued the $399 PAP but that price is currently good only until Dec 31, 2012. Likely they will come to their Jim Lewis imbedded senses come Dec 31 and assume their normal position of being right behind us with long sticks at just below waist level.

I wonder if anyone is going to do what we are going to do. and as suggested above. We bought the PAP a few weeks ago at WDW (by cashing in AP renewals) that is now good until next Oct 2013. Before Dec 31, 2012 we intend to buy another set of $399 PAPs so they can be activated after the current ones expire since they said you can activate the PAP as late as Dec 31, 2013.
