We are going to IOA for the first time in Oct. I'm confused about the tickets we should buy. We will be in US and IOA for 3 days. Should we buy the 2 park/3 day passes or the power passes I've read about. I doubt we will be back within a year, but it appears that the power passes are the same price as the 2 or 3 day passes. Help!

If it were me I'd get the power pass's that just does'nt make sense to by a 3 day pass and you can get an ap for the same money essentially. Having tha ap will make you want to come back once you've been biten by the bug you'll be planning your next trip before you can get home and you don't want to be stuck with buying tickets again. Have a great time on your visit.

Thanks for your thoughts. However, unlike Disney's passes that made sense to me (usually), I can't make any sense out of Universal's. Their site says a 2 park/3 day pass is $100, but a 5 day bonus pass, if bought online is $89. ????? The power pass is listed as $99 at one place on the site and $105 in another place. It appears that the power pass may not include City Walk and the other passes do, but this price structure still does not make sense to me. Why would anyone buy a 3 day pass for more money than a 5 day pass? It just seems to me that buying tickets should not be this complicated, but as an Orlando veteran I guess I should know better.

On a related topic, has anyone bought their passes from a ticket discounter? Some of these sites appear to save $5-10 per pass. Are they OK?

Thanks.

I'll hazard a guess as to why the 3 day ticket might be more than a 5 day ticket and why a person would choose it. I bet the 3 day ticket's unused days never expire whereas the 5 day ticket has to be used within a certain time frame.

Okay point well taken and i agree with the thoughts on fevour. You mention CityWalk. You do not need a pass for Citywalk. I think it confuses people. The only time you need a Party Pass at city walk is in lieu of cover charges at the clubs. I myself have'nt missed anything at the bars or clubs so that's no matter to me. If you plan on club hopping then that's a consideration when making your ticket purchases. You can pay cover at the doors at various clubs and do it that way or buy a separate party pass in city walk if you choose to club hop once your their. Check the power pass the make sure your not visiting during blackout dates and go for it.!

i noticed the same thing as you when i went to look at ticket prices. we are going to spend 2 days at universal and ioa this december when we go to wdw. i was so confused. i was telling my parents and older brother about the prices and they thought i was crazy and i had to be wrong. i'm glad i'm not. i'm still confused but i am going to go for the power pass b/c i go to wdw a few times a year and i might as well go to ioa and universal too.

Sorry, but you guessed wrong. The 2 park/3 day pass has to be used within 7 days of the first use and the 5 day pass is good for 5 consecutive days. I still think it doesn't make any sense.

I'm glad I'm not the only one, but I'd really like to get an informed answer. Barry??
