I would assume that they have added these tickets to make Cabana Bay look desirable and completive with Disney. For 4 days it was $349 for non peak but not slow time. That may not be too bad. I was in guest relations when a person was adding express passes to tickets for one day one park for 5 people and it over $400 at the beginning of august. I will stick with the other onsite hotels and my AP.

They've been around for a while and don't seem to have made much of a difference.

I knew someone that bought those VIP unlimited tixs about 5 years back.
Like others have said, it wasn't highly advertised.

I was just looking around the site pricing tickets...sad that the $99 7 day tickets are long gone lol and saw this. You can now purchase a ticket with unlimited EP. Now we stay on site anyways but I was wondering if it's new and do you think it will make the EP lines longer. It's still cheaper to stay onsite as the 4 day ones are $300 a person!!!

I priced it out (on-site vs off-site and buying the Unlimited FP) and it wasn't that much more.... maybe $100. And I can get free breakfast at the off-site- place!

3 adults, 2 nights a Lowes w/ 2 Day P2P Passes vs. 2 nights at the hyatt + same tickets with the UFP..... not that much of a difference. I used the first week of December as my "test" weekend, if that makes any difference.

That week will be a low priced week for express. Crowds are minimal. And you won't get early admission unless you purchase the package through Universal---not sure if that changes the price at all.

Did you price it out for 3 days of tickets? That's how many days of unlimited express you will get with 2 nights onsite.

If you only want two days of unlimited express access, you only need to stay one night onsite.

I only priced it out with 2 day tickets at both bc that is all I want. I am not a big fan of going to parks on my arrival or departure day. When I actually go to Universal, it will be in August and I will stay three nights, but only go to the park two days. This is why it may be cheaper for my to stay off-site and by the UEP. I know I won't get the early admission, but that is kind of okay bc my family is not fond of getting up early on vacation. I guess we would do it if we were paying for it, though.

I'm sorry to hi-jack the OPs thread.

Try pricing it out with only one night onsite if you are planning on just doing two days at the parks. That be be even cheaper yet. You can spend the other night at the Hyatt. It isn't a big deal switching hotels since you are going to be spending all day at the parks. You just give your bags to the bell person and they will get stored for you. The Hyatt is within walking distance or costs about $5 for a cab.

Keep in mind August is not low crowds in the first place and next August will be crazy busy with the Harry Potter expansion opening.

I will compare prices again when I am the point of actually making reservations.
I'm sorry to hijack the thread, but I wanted to point out that at certain times of the year, it's not that much more to stay off-site and buy the UEP.

I don't know if I want to do a split stay between Universal and Hyatt since we will also be staying on-site at Disney. Three hotel switches is a lot!

Beyond just comparing costs, there is a huge convenience and travel-time factor with staying onsite. That adds value to the calculation. If the cost comparison is within a few bucks, onsite is worth it. :wave2:

Unlimited Express Pass tickets for four, two days, is $1120. That's a LOT of money. Standard park to park is $587. We were planning to stay one night onsite, which will add $254 plus taxes, etc. We're paying to stay in another place, but would leave the unit to stay in the Universal Hotel.

Wondering if it's worth it.

Depends on when you are going.
