Tickets with Split DVC and Cash Resort Stay

Whenever we've gone to WDW in the past we've just stayed at a single resort for the whole time. Since we joined DVC this year we're going to WDW from Dec 1 through 7 and have AKV from Dec 1 through Dec 5 and are wait listed for Dec 5 through 7. If the wait list doesn't come through we're going to probably stay those two nights at either Pop Century or Port Orleans.

So my question is how will our park tickets work? Will we buy a six day park hopper that will be separate from our room ticket or will they know that our stay is split and we can put our park hopper our room keys? We don't want to have to buy a 4 day and a 2 day park hopper since that would be more expensive (by quite a bit!) than a six day.

When you stay DVC, you buy your tickets on your own so you will have no problem with doing a 6 day ticket. When you get to AKV, you can have it added to your room key if you want.

If you have to move to a different resort, that ticket will stay on the AKV KTTW card and you will have to use that for the remainder of your trip. They can't transfer the tickets from one KTTW card to another (or that is what I was told).

The only way you would have to buy tickets with your Pop or Port Orleans stay is if you wanted a package (ie: dining plan). Then they require tickets as well. But if you do room only, it is no problem.

DVC members have seperate park tickets, so just worry about how many total days you will be in the parks and buy your passes based on that. You will likely have a park ticket and then a room ticket. We have annual passes so we have never gotten our passes applied to our room ticket and I didn't realize that was even an option for day passes. It would be more convenient then having to bring both kttw and park pass.

I'd just keep the tickets you buy from wherever separate your KTTW. Then you won't have to worry about having them added/removed from the KTTW.
