It totally hate this new ticket system!
We are going in april. This is the first year every one of us needs new tickets. usually we have it spread out so we aren't buy a ton of passes at once.
We are going to go to Unniversal since they have a great deal going on with tickets....amazing prices....
But we have 3 one day tickets left to go into Disney. I need one more adult ticket...
If I buy a 3 day ticket can I down the road up grade it to a hopper? ( will get the non expiring part) Will I be able to upgrade it to a 10 pass? and save? Or is it a lost cause and i should just bite the bullet buy the actual pass I want, 10 day, hopper, non expiring, water park....
Any help?!?!
We are staying at Fort Wilderness. Cause we love it. We have tons of water park passes so will hit those....
Thanks

Just bite the bullet and buy your 10-day pass.

Even if you buy a 3-day ticket and upgrade, the upgrades will cost just as much as if you spent the money upfront.

Right now this trip is rather spur of the moment. So buying a 3 day pass fits the budget better. BUt I know next year we will want to do Disney. So I will buy 10 day passes one at a time spread out. So it is less painful. So if I bought a 3 day pass now, when I up grade will it still work out to be the same as if I bought the 10 day to start? Hope that is making sense.
In the past I never thought it was a benifit to upgrade. I would just buy new use the old tickets and then start a new ticket.

Yes, there is no advantage or disadvantage (YET) to buying a pass and upgrading it later (before first use, with regard to the non-expiry option).

Bicker one more question.
I will be using it for one day. Will that not allow me to upgrade later?

Since this ticket will have been used I believe that you only have 14 days after use to upgrade but that may be only for the expiring tickets. Maybe someone else knows for sure.

You can upgarde as long as you purchased the no expiration option. As bicker said right now there is no advantage except maybe saving if there are any price increases. Opps, sorry should have said when they increase the prices.

As long as you purchase the no expiry option you can upgrade at any time and it will not cost you anymore than if you bought that same ticket new (assuming no price increases).

I upgraded our 7 day park hopper (expiry) to 10 day hoppers no expiry while I was there in December - I specifically asked if I could upgrade to the waterparks and more at a later date - I was told as long as I still have one day left on the passes I could upgrade again at any time to the maximum allowed on a ticket (10 days).

Yes, yes and no.
I bought a three-day hopper in January 2005.
About two days later (after I'd used one day), I upgraded it to a six-day non-expiring hopper, and used two more days.
In September, I upgraded it again to a ten-day non-expiring hopper (with eight actual days available). I used four more days.
The day I left, I upgraded it once more to include the plus features.
Sorry, I can't tell you how much it all cost, I didn't keep track.

So, now I have:
One plus feature remaining from older pass
Four park days remaining from last year's MYW pass
Five or six days (I forget what was included at the time) water parks/Pleasure Island/Disney Quest
Single day on ticket purchased to make prior visit a package and get free dining.

Just a note - if you are thinking about the loaded pass (park hopper/water parks etc/non exp) then it is only $40 more to get the annual pass. At least that's what I've heard...

From allears:

10 Day MYW Premium (6 options) $444.11

Annual Pass $441.98 (no water parks, etc, and they are only good for 366 days)
Premium Annual Pass $574.05

Thanks everyone! I really want to see the castle as it is decorated now. But just didn't want to fork over a ton of money now!
As for the annual pass I can't know for sure we would make it back with in the year time.
