Tickets question?

Again, I am posting here as to get the DVC members take on this- W/ the discount we get on PAP's but the flexibility of a 10 day Premium non-expiring hopper w/ waterparks- which would be the best ticket option? 10 day hopper w/ waterparks and more non-expiring is expensive up front but we will get more than 1 year of use out of them - at least from what I have been reading- We live more than a hop, skip, jump by driving so not likely we would be able to visit more than once a year right now and to get the most bang for our buck... well, the way I understand it works- 10 day non-expiring is an entrance 10 times into each Disney Park- Correct? Also the Waterparks and more... how many entrances 10 entrances each or just 10 times as a whole? i.e. If we go to Typhoon Lagoon do we have 9 more X to visit Typhoon Lagoon as well as 10 entrances to Disney Quest etc OR will we have 9 entrances left to use between Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon, Disney Quest etc? Also, what are all the "more" included in the & More part since Disney Pleasure Island is being changed? Or will it possibly be reopened by next year 09 and available to whatever they put in it? I am sure that last part may not be able to be answered- I really hope they still have a club or 2 in Pleasure Island - maybe one that kids can go to though- Everyone loves to dance and that would be loads of fun to dance the night away w/ my kids!

You have ten days for theme parks total, NOT ten entries to each. If you have the hopper you visit more than one park in a day, but you have ten park days total. Same with the waterparks or Disney Quest. You have ten visits total, not to each.

PI is closing in Sept (yea hate it too).

if you can arrange your visits for one year - then ap every other year is the best deal.

the year starts when you validate the ticket.

We purchase APs and make sure to get two trips on them (at least). For us it goes something like this...

Dec. trip...activate APs
Oct. trip next year...before APs expire
Dec. trip the following year...new APs (not renewal)
Oct. trip the year after that...before APs expire

We live in New England and drive instead of fly.

If you can get two trips in within the same year, then definitely go with the AP's. If not, stick with the MYW tickets and get no expiration.

Just wondering since you noted- Why wouldn't you do renewal rather than purchase another AP? I saw that option as well and iot came into my thinking- Wouldn't renewal be cheaper or is the renewal cost not at a discount for us?

You do get a discount, but when you renew the AP it is activated from the day after your previous AP expired.

We bought an AP in late June 07 and used it for the June 2007 trip, Feb. 08 trip and early June 08 trip. We do not plan to go back until October of 09, so we will buy a new one then.
