Tickets Please

Going to WDW in February. Should I purchase tickets this year or wait and see what options might be available first of the year?

Gas prices could push ticket prices up, so now might be a good option.

If you are referring to airline tickets, we usually have a target price and if the price get's there we buy and don't worry about whether they go down more.

If you're talking about Disney tickets, I'd say wait. There usually is a period of time between when new incentives etc are announced and the closing of the ability to buy the old tickets which gives you the best of both worlds. You have to be careful though as sometimes there's not a whole lot of notice when they are going to raise prices.

Sometimes Disney offers package deals, but generally speaking, Disney isn't going to lower their prices on park tickets. My guess is that they will keep their basic program the same while the 50 year thing is going on. For Feb. airfare, I'd start looking now. Keep in mind though that Southwest has only released through 1/09/06 at this time. If SWA is an option at your airport, evn if you plan on flying another airline, I'd wait until their fares come out, becuse other airlines will often match their deals.

If you are flying Southwest, purchase the tickets on the internet when the prices first come out. We did for December, and the prices would be about $500 higher for our family right now.

If you are referring to the park tickets, prices generally go up the first of the year, so if you are SURE of how long you will be there and what you want it can make sense to purchase them in advance.

If you are thinking about a package, you may want to wait and see what happens. It can be difficult to combine pre-purchased tickets with packages.
