Hi,

I'm being a tad dim and can't get my head around whether I should pay for park tickets in £ or $.

Was looking at purchasing through Orlando Attractions, they give you the choice I think. I would be using a basic Natwest credit card probably.

Help heads hurting:confused3

It really depends on the exchange rate and whether or not your card issuer will charge a fee for a foreign currency transaction.

Not sure how much their rates vary from card to card, just looked at the first one on their site http://www.natwest.com/downloads/personal/cc_Platinum_summary_13.pdf
They charge 2.75% for foreign transactions.

If you post the prices in both currencies I can compare. I just looked and could not work out our to get a £ quote for a US ticket.

Thanks Wayne the prices are $345.95 adult and $330.95 child - so total $1022.85

And sterling they are showing as £649.43 total (had to go through checkout process to find this)

To be honest, not much in it. But by my reckoning, sterling will be just a touch cheaper.

I agree. Based on an exchange rate of $1.6 to the £, including the foreign currency charge, you would probably be charged around £656 if paying in $$ as opposed to the £649 in sterling.

I presume you are buying Magic Your Way tickets? Have you priced up other sites, for example www.undercovertourist.com (their prices tend to be pretty reasonable)? I cannot get on the UT site at work so can't compare but, having looked at the Orlando Attractions website, it looks as though you are buying the 5 day MYW with 2 days free and water park fun and more (so 7-day tickets with additional water park/Disney Quest access). It might be worth checking out UT's prices as a comparison, although I have to admit those prices look quite good.

Also, are you aware that you won't be able to 'hop' with those tickets?

1.6082 is the current exchange rate, with Natwest you would get 1.564.

So paying in $'s you would pay £654

Best way would be using a fee free credit card like Post Office or Halifax Clarity the cost would be £636, saving £13 plus if you don't have one yet Post Office give £18 cashback via Quidco.

Undercover Tourist tad dearer at $ 356.95 adult & $ 337.95 child

Having 3 year old we don't see value in hopping at the mo. I miss my rope drop til close days but sanity must prevail.
