Tickets less expensive through Disney?

Hi All -
Hope someone can help w/ my question.

We are planning on going to WDW in Aug 07 and staying at BCV. There will be a total of 7 (2 adults/5 kids) in our party.

I went onto www.disneyworld.com to take a look at the resort + tickets price (water parks & park hopping) and it appears that the tickets are less expensive than other sites (such as undercovertourist and maple leaf tickets). For instance, on the Disney website, the cost of a 5 day with park hopper & water parks is $1970, on other sites the lowest price I've found is $2009.

I thought that generally it was less expensive to book a room only through Disney and then pick up tickets elsewhere.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Anyone else run into this?

This is a very common question caused by the confusing way Disney handles its online sales.

Disney doesn't add tax (or shipping, if needed) until the very end of the transaction. You have to add 6.5% tax to the prices on the Disney web site. Most reputable ticket vendors include tax and shipping in the quoted prices. Once you add tax, the vendors are almost always considerably cheaper.

The lowest price for Disney passes can be found by signing up for the newsletter on mousesavers.com (outside of any special offers from Disney).
That monthly newsletter will include special links for mousesavers.com readers, to discounts for Ticket Mania and Undercover Tourist even lower than what is posted on those individual websites.

I have purchased from both of these companies and found them to be very reliable.
