Tickets from group package

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to ask. My friend and her daughter are going to DW in about 2 weeks. They are part of a dance group reservation. She got her paper tickets a few days ago but was told she will not be able to FP until she checks in and gets her Magic Bands. Is this correct or can she link the paper tickets to her DME? They are staying on site. Thank you.

Put the ticket numbers into her MyDIsneyExperience account (she needs to have one or create one HERE) and see if the account accepts the tickets.
(She can also try to "scan" them in using a smart phone.)

If the tickets are accepted in MDE, she should try to make FP+ reservations.

She does have a MDE account. I am going to try and help her today. Hopefully it works for her. Thank you.
