Tickets for US and IOA or just IOA?

We are planning to take a day and go over to IOA for sure, we are going at the end of April ( and hoping for a soft open of HP) and are trying to decide if we should get the just base ticket for one park or both. In addition to any HP stuff we might get to check out, we have interest in DD,Spiderman, and Poseidons fury. We are going to the BMG concert that night, so I am thinking we might have some time to check out US for a spell as well, but not sure, we don't want to rush. Would love some input! Thanks :)

I went the first week of June last year and we did both parks in one day. We obviously skipped somethings, but covered a majority of the rides. In my opinion it is worth buying both for the extra money. I would imagine the end of April won't be super busy either.

I think people, maybe even Universal themselves, are underestimating the affect HP will have on their parks. If HP is open in April, it will be mobbed, absolutely no doubt.
I'd still buy the two park ticket, so if HP was too crowded, you can check out US. I just wouldn't expect low crowds.

The two park ticket isn't a lot more than the one park and if you have time, check out both. You could purchase the one park ticket and upgrade if you found you had the time do to both parks.

That is the perfect solution.

I agree with your crowd estimates, but I disagree that Universal is underestimating them. One of the first stories I read about Harry Potter coming to IOA was that both Universal and the travel experts expect IOA to break into the Disney list at the top of the annual attendance charts.

The Orange County Visitor's Bureau is also counting on Harry Potter fans bringing LOTS of bodies and wallets to this area. You are right though...Universal knows what's coming.
