I have heard you can get tickets for $25 if you sit in a sales demo.
has anyone done this? do you realy get tickets? Is the timeshare nice?

They are not supposed to last over 90 minutes, but our guy was quite rude when I wanted to leave at 90 minutes. He procrastinated in calling a supervisor to sign off so we could get the "reward." It was stressful and a waste of a good morning.

You can get much better deals than that and some of the sales pitches arent to high pressure.I also believe that they sell a 4 day ticket at alot of the places for like 100$. When signing up for the timeshare dont act like you want to go and they will keep making the deal better.

One of the worst experiences I had was sitting politely though a vacation membership pitch and then finally, after over 90 mins, explaining that we did not think it would work for our family the salesman became downright rude.
He turned from being our best buddy to acting as if we had stolen his wife. It was really stressful and an icky experience. I felt like a criminal.
We truly went in with open minds and we're considering membership, but there were too many things that did not make sense for our family and it would not have been a good financial decision for us. Looking back I am glad we did not cave in to the mind tactics they used on us - it was a short term bad experience and I am glad it was not a long term one!

We sat through a sales presentation at the Marriott Grande Vista and had no problems. We got a great deal to stay there and got two free one park adult tickets, which we got when we checked in. Our sales guy's talk lasted about 90 minutes and he had no problem when we told him we weren't interested. All in all, ours was worth it. No pressure at all.

I have done the Marriott timeshare presentation in Hilton Head and it was fine. However, I would NEVER do some of the ones I hear about in Orlando. TIme is money when you are on vacation and spending two hours listening to what a great deal this is (when it is less then 50% if you buy resale?)

I do own DVC and find it works for me, but the sales pitch was VERY low key.

I think that is my problem with the idea. Two adult tickets for $25. So you save $50. Both of you need to go. You'll spend about three hours total (90 minutes, plus travel time, plus its seldom JUST 90 minutes). So six hours of people time for $50 in savings - less than $10 an hour. During what to me is very valuable vacation time.

I'd find some way (eBay, babysitting, a few Saturdays working the register at WalMart) to make $50 at home. I can usually find more time at home than I can on vacation. Or I'd find some way at home to squeeze $50 out of the budget (rebates, couponing - someone here pointed me to the Walgreens Easy Saver Catalog - I've managed to save $50 in three months on stuff I actually buy - not always the brand I'd buy) before I'd spend three hours of vacation on a timeshare presentation.
