I just saw that an adult advance purchase 5-D PH costs only $217 before tax, and can be bought at Disney.com or at the Disney Store.
Regular gate price is $239 w/o tax.

TicketManias 5-D PH prices are $240, including tax and free shipping. Unless the Disney Store charges $23 tax, Disney's price is better.

Can this be? I thought buying tickets directly from Disney was the most expensive way to buy tickets. Am I missing something?

Buying from Disney with their advance purchase has been less expensive than from the brokers.
The brokers prices are generally better than Disney for non advance purchases.

The advance purchase of Disney Tickets is (using your figures)
231.11 for that 5 day ph. Disney charges 3.00 for shipping of each order, not each ticket.

That does appear to be the case. Are you by any chance a AAA member? Different motor clubs have different prices, but the Chicago Motor Club AAA offices sell 5-day park hoppers for $221.50 - tax included.

So I'll save by buying from the Disney Store, with no shipping. Wow, this is good news. I think I'll start buying my 4 tickets now, maybe one a month, at the store, so I won't even feel it.

Are you by any chance a AAA member?

Nancy, yes, but it still looks like buying directly from The Disney Store is the least expensive way to buy tickets. I'll save over $80 for 4.

No - $231.11 at the Disney Store is still more than $221.50 from AAA (or whatever your local AAA club charges).

AAA Carolina listes the 5-day Park Hopper for $220.00 on their website. This is still less than the $217+tax at the Disney Store - especially since the tax added is the Orlando, FL tax (somewhere between 6-7%, I think) and not local taxes. This makes the $217 hopper ticket somewhere between $230-$232 - so you'd still save at least aother $10/ticket if you purchased them from AAA - at least, in NC/SC. So it might be worthwhile calling up your local AAA office and see what they have for pricing.

You can also pick up AAA tickets from another AAA office outside your area if that's where you are - at least, we were able to a number of years ago. We were Michigan members, but picked up tickets for King's Island in Dayton, OH on our way because our office was out of tickets.

Mur!

CT's AAA prices are at 229.54 for the 5 day.

Thanks, I forgot tax. I'm going to check out AAA. Every little bit of savings helps!

Big oopsie!:(

The above post is mine, but I posted on my son's username by mistake!

As a general rule, the advance purchase price of the 4 day and 5 day PH's (no plusses) is cheaper through Disney sources than through the independent ticket wholesalers. Wholesalers have the advantage over Disney when they sell plus passes.

In fact, some (example: Paramount) offer the 4 day PHP when available for just a few dollars more than a 4 day PH from Disney ($204.48 for 4 day PH from Disney; $211 for 4 day PHP from Paramount).

The prices on the 5 day are similar: $231.11 for a 5 day PH from Disney; $239 for a 5 day PHP with 2 plusses from Paramount.

So it depends on what you can use. Many people think spending an extra $7 for one plus or $8 for two is a very good deal especially since the plusses never expire.

AAA as you can tell by the prices others have posted in this thread are not standardized. Each office charges what they want. 5 day adult PH's run from $220 to $230 and child from $175 to $182 depending on what your local office sells them for.

I bought advance 2-5 day Park Hoppers from disney online for $465.00, tax and shipping included. It was the best deal I found (I'm not a member of AAA). The site said that I saved $44.00 (before shipping) by ordering in advance instead of buying them in WDW. The tax from where I'm from (New Orleans, LA) is almost double of that in FL!!!

WHOA the AAA rate in NC/SC is cheaper than SOG rates. 222 and some change I believe is the going rate for SOG.... hmmmm I need to find out if I can buy these tickets then pick them up from my local AAA in VA... Anyone know???

I don't believe you will be able to. If you get the tickets in VA, you will be charged that office's prices.
