Now that the park passes have changed are they still selling them at the Disney Store?
Also I have old "plus" features on our previous passes. They are all adult tix. I was wondering if I can use one of those admissions for our 5 year old daughter? Will they allow me to get her in on an adult pass? I assume yes but I just want to be sure. Thanks!

Yes, they still sell passes at the Disney Store. However, they ONLY sell the base tickets. You will get a voucher that needs to be activated at the parks. If you want to add any options (Park hopping, magic plus pack, premium, or non-expiration), you can do that when you activate the ticket.

Yes, your daughter will be able to get in on an adult admission. You'd only have a problem if an adult tried to use a child's ticket.

Thanks. So if I understand correctly I wouldn't be paying for the whole ticket right away? I would only pay for the days themselves at the Disney Store then later during activation I would pay for the hopping feature we want?

Correct.

If I were you however, I would buy the tickets either through Disney Reservations, or online at DisneyWorld.com.

You won't get ANY advance purchase discount on a base ticket (which is all you'll purchase at the Disney store)

If you get the options right away, there are some advance purchase discounts.

AHHH! Sneaky! It used to be that if you bought the tix ahead of time at the Disney Store you got the advance discounts! Good to know! Thanks so much!

Sorry, but that information is not correct. I work at a DS and not only can you get hopping and plus feature passes but you will get the advance purchase price as well. The only thing we do not sell at the DS is the no expiration feature. You can add the no expiration feature anytime within 14 days of your first use of your ticket. This is actually a great feature since you may or may not use all of the days.

HMM. Now my head hurts! :earseek: SO I can get the same price at the DS as I can online AND I can add the hopper feature at that time?

One more question if you don't mind. If I just get the Hopper option the site quoted a 4day pass as $221 a 5 day as $222 and a 6 day as $223. There is REALLY only a $1 difference between each day? That would be great because then I wouldn't mind going into the parks on the day we arrived. Even if we only go for 3 hours it still only cost a $1! Am I right?

I really appreciate all the help. I hate change and I am trying so hard to learn this new system. I have ALOT of people looking to me for info and I want to get it right!

Terry S is correct. I just got back an hour ago from TDS where I bought 2 adult and 2 child 7 day MYW tix with hopper option. I called on 1/2/05 and they did tell me only the base tickets would be sold and we would have to add the hopper option on when we arrived, but then I saw here on the boards that others were getting their hoppers at TDS so I went over there today and yes, I did get them with the hopper option!

Oh sorry, yes they are the same price as Disney online and you are correct in the price only being aout $1 more per day!! This is because Disney wants you to stay longer so as soon as you go over 5 days it is only $1 more per day! We had planned on getting 5 day regular hoppers for cost reason, and then taking a day off in the middle as well as not do parks on our travel days. Now for about the same price we were able to get the 7 day hoppers!!

My bad then! I had been told Disney Store would only carry base tickets.

Terry S - is that a store wide policy, or is it up to the discretion of the management of each location? (Curious so I can update the FAQ at the top of the page! :) )

Yes, Carrie is right. The price is only $1 for each additional day. Our store was really surprised when we realized that there was only $1 difference, we actually thought it was a typo at first.

It is all the Disney Stores. We don't have a choice!

So you have base tickets, and can give advance purchase discounts, and add any option except non-expiration.

Are you also selling any remaining Park hoppers in stock, or have those been cut off? Someone in another thread said they'd purchased hoppers at the Disney store.

AWESOME!! Thanks soooo much! I was only getting the 5 day just like you, Carrie. Now knowing that the difference is $2 I will get the 7day and go in every day we are there, even our travel days!!! It makes it TOTALLY worth it! I am a happy girl! :flower1:

Yes!

No, we are not selling any of the old Park Hoppers, we were told to remeove them from the "Stage"

Samantha- we are suoer happy with the new tickets as well. I know alot of feathers have been ruffled with this new system, but it is great for us since we also now can go on a travel day! Even if you end up not using a day, it is only $1!!

Snacky Stacky- You were correct. I did call TDS on 1/2/05 and the CM did tell me they would NOT be carrying the park hoppers, only the base tickets. They told me when I got to WDW I could upgrade them to hoppers at my resort. Just to make sure I called POFQ and the CM confirmed that yes, we would have to do it there on check in. They must have changed their mind about this. They had the stand with the passes for either 3-7 day park hopper (activated for specific day at register) which are blue with Minnie on them, as well as some orange ones (not sure which these were I am sure Terry can say). Then they have a book they look up in for what options you want or how many days, and enter it in the register. They then scan the ticket, it connects then the register says "Ticket Activated". Not sure why I told you all of that but oh well! In any case, this is what they were telling people.

Thanks for sharing! Like I said, I'm following this stuff so closely to try and keep the FAQ updated so people can find answers there. :)

yep. I was at the Disney Store the day they went on sale and you get a reall card, not a voucher.

What we have is a base ticket, a base + hopper ticket, a base + plus features ticket and a base + hopper + plus feature ticket (I think this one is called premium ticket) All 4 of these ticket types are hanging on a display. You just go to the display, grab the type of ticket you want and bring them to the cash register and tell us if you want a adult or child and how many days. We only sell 3 - 7 days at the DS.

I am not sure about the characters on each ticket. I know one has Minnie and one has Cinderella. I don't remember what the other two are, I think one was Pluto. The annual passes have Mickey on them, but as of the last time I worked we were not sure if we would be selling them even though we did receive them.
