Ticketmaster rant

Why is it that I buy tickets for a concert 3 months ahead - on the first day that they're available. And now, a mere week before the concert, better seats than mine are now available? Why is that? They say that all sales are final - that you can't return or exchange these things, so where were these better tickets when I purchased mine? Anyone know?

I do! It means that the promoter added seats at the last minute or that someone who was holding a large number of tickets (an example might be CMT for a country music concert) and didn't need all of them. Another option could be that they've had a chance to set up the concert as it will be the night of the show and there is room for additional seats. All sorts of things can cause this, and it frustrates us at the ticket venue just as much as it does you, I promise.

It has happened to me in the past - what happens is that leading up to the show - more seats open up for one reason or another and Ticketmaster - Re releases them. Dont know why - dont know the logic behind it but it happens!

When you arrive at the venue see if there are still any better seats available. Sometimes they will let you trade up.

chell-That doesn't happen with most venues, definitely not at this one. It's against Ticketmaster contracts to refund/exchange tickets period. We do not do that at all. You can, however, ask for a reseat if you get here and find that your seat is not as good as promised and better seats are remaining unsold. This is fairly infrequent, especially for shows that were sold out at some point.

Really? Guess me and my friends have been very lucky then. We have never had any problems trading up if anything was available.
