Ticketless Package?

Hi.
I have a stay coming up in February booked at the discount rate that came out 20% off standard room at Movies.
I am thinking of adding a dining plan and I know I have to call to do that. If I decide to book this does it mean the cast member will be cancelling and rebooking the entire reservation? I don’t want to risk losing my room and resort choice with the discount.
 
If the CM you initially speak with doesn't know how to do this, ask to speak with someone in Guest Services who should be able to assist in adding the dining plan to the room you've already booked at the discounted rate.
 
i did it in april this year as i had to add a extra day at start of my stay and worked out a lot cheaper adding dining package for me and my wife and 3 kids . with the refill mug , character breakfast ,used kids over counter on adult meals and snack at epcot festival it saved us almost $200 by adding one night dining plan . i just put on fax room request that my main concern was to get same room number for all my bookings

last week I had 4 nights booked on sale price for april next year for me and teenage son but cancelled it and called up . I got CM to book it as a ticketless over counter dining plan for just one night and it was booked under the same sale price . as will buy the refill mug anyway and will work out about $50 cheaper with meals we are planning for that day and next day . i then just booked 3 night online on same sale . I will do same as last year and fax room request just asking for same room for both booking numbers
 
The CM’s know exactly what to do. I just decided to make my reservation a “room only” when it was originally reserved as a package. This type of change needs to be rebooked and deposit refunded and a new deposit made. It’s just a 4 night adults trip and we don’t need to do FP in advance or want to commit to where we are going on what day. The resort is sold out on our dates so it was essential that she do the change without losing my room. No problem at all!

I'm glad the CM you spoke with knew how to handle your situation. Some CM's don't and need the assistance of Guest Services. In your case, you could have also asked to remove ticket and/or dining components from your package and make it a "Basic Package" which is essentially a room-only, but with the terms and conditions of a package. This would have avoided the cancel/rebook situation.
 
Yes she was excellent and I stayed on the line after she was finished to take the survey.
I offered to do exactly what you said, but preferred the room only with the five day cancel policy and not having to pay the entire amount up front. Love it when I get a great CM!

Wow, I will have to call again. I tried to get park tickets taking off of my package and was on the phone with a CM for over 30minutes and they still could not figure it out. I guess I will try to call back.
