I was looking at our onboard activities that we signed up for and I noticed my sister signed her two kids up for the Princess and Frozen meet and greets but she also singed herself and our mom up. I know those two won't personally meet the characters but I think my sister just assumed they needed them to stand in line.

I am not 100% sure but I'm assuming you don't need a ticket to stand in line with your kids, right? If I am correct I bet there are a lot of parents who do the same thing as my sister did and that must leave a lot less tickets for kids who actually want to meet them. I'm thinking I should have my sister cancel or and our moms tickets.

It used to be a ticket for the group but there were people just jumping into pictures last minute so the timing was off. Chances are they aren't taking tickets from anyone. DCL expects everyone in a group to have tickets. And who knows? They may want a princess picture last minute.

Everyone needs a ticket. We were told if you didn't have a ticket you couldn't enter the line so for the princesses you could stand with kids outside the line and take photos from behind the rope but for Elsa and Anna you could not enter the restaurant with out a ticket.

Everyone needs a ticket. On the 2/22 Magic, they were checking the tickets against a list they had for the Princess Gathering and for Frozen they tore the tickets in half - no ticket, no admittance. Even to stand in line.

I can echo, we just disembarked the Dream yesterday and they definitely ensured the four of us all had tickets for the Princess Gathering and Frozen meet and greets. I also agree, I usually tend to take pictures of the characters solo and just mention this at the end. Even if just one person in the cabin is taking pictures or getting autographs, if any one else wants to go, just ensure you get a ticket for them too.

The frozen m&g is generally in ap, so they won't even let you in the restaurant without a ticket. There's no other way to see the interaction. The princesses are generally in the atrium, so you can still watch from afar if extra adults didn't get tickets.

If for somehow someone didn't get a ticket and just the kids did. Parents have to be allowed to accompany. Possibly without being able to meet and greet.
