We have five day non expiring tickets. Can we upgrade to hoppers? If so, how much would it be? Can this be done over the phone?

Are they totally unused? Or had you previously used days from longer tickets and you now have 5 days left?

1. If these tickets have never been used, likely yes.
If they have been partially used, no.
2. Depending on how and when you bought them, around $70, each, plus tax.

I was under the impression that once you started using a ticket you could still add PH at any time as long as the ticket wasn't expired.

The reason for pointing this out - we never buy the PH option until a day we decide to use it. And often we end up not hopping after all. Saves money in the long run if you don't pay for options you aren't using.

Nothing has changed. But...
If it's a non-expiing ticket, and it has been partially used, and the OP is asking about upgrading it BEFORE arrival at WDW, then logically,
it has been over 14 days since the ticket was first used.
Any MYW ticket has a window of upgrade availability that is limited to the first 14 days following first use.

The fine details of specific ticket issues must be known before correct answers can be determined.
