ticket upgrade

We are going in July, but my sister and her husband only want 4 day tickets. Her daughter and I would like longer tickets with park hopper. If tickets are linked to Magic Bands, can we still upgrade our tickets? Obviously we would only be able to make our FP+ choices for 4 days and have to wait for others after we add more days.

I was even thinking about upgrading my ticket to an annual pass. Can I still do this too?

I like the convenience of the MB (for room key and ticket etc), but the fp stuff is not so convenient.
