Ticket upgrade to annual pass

Isn't that odd that they let you upgrade those tickets, then? That's not the norm at all. But it's possible that because that was done, that is exactly the reason they didn't bridge (or didn't do it correctly) when moving to the ap, because those package tickets were turned in to non package tickets in the phone upgrade.
.

you are SO right! it isn't normally done. I just called and didn't mention an AP at all. didn't use the word "upgrade". only asked if I could add some days to the 2 unused free dining pkg. tickets. and was told no they can do absolutely NO upgrades over the phone. only at a GR window.

this is what caused me so much confusion on the phone with the ticket coordinator. I kept insisting it was possible cause it was done the year before. the thing is, the Cm last year never said anything about pixie dust or special exemption. just did it. I have no idea how or that it wasn't just a normal procedure. guess I just got lucky.

Do it anytime you like.
The LATEST you can do it is close-of-business on the day that you use the LAST DAY of your ticket.

But, there is zero reason to wait.
If you do it on your first day there, you will get all of the benefits of AP ownership from the first day.

There is one reason to wait. If you want to buy an AP with blackout dates, but want to first visit on the blackout dates. We are using 10 day tickets during Christmas/New Years and upgrading on the last day to Gold AP's.

Yup.
That's a bit of a unique situation, but it certainly can come up with certain FL resident tickets during visits that overlap blackout and non-blackout dates.

I've read through this - but, just want to be sure about timing. I, currently, have a package booked with 8 day tickets AND have an AP (set to expire on Jan 17th). Our trip starts on Feb 4. Is it possible to use my tickets that I've purchased to 'upgrade' my AP via "renewal" (rather than purchasing a new AP), in that timeline? I think that I read that you can 'renew' within 30 days of the expiration. Can someone advise if this will work? And, am I understanding that I can do this at any time during my week long vacation? Thanks!!

Yes, you can.
