Ticket upgrade question

Sorry to waste a brand new thread on probably a stupid question, but here goes:

We are going as a group and half our group is buying 5-day hoppers, and the other half is buying 3-day hoppers. If some of the 3-dayers decide they want to stay, what would they pay to upgrade to the 5-day? We are buying the tickets from getawaytoday to get the 2 MM's and currently their prices are the same as the advance purchase prices on disneyland.com but it is a discount from the regular gate price. Would they pay the $25 difference between the 3 and 5 day prices or would they pay the difference between the advance purchase 3-day price and the regular gate 5-day price? Did that make any sense? :confused3 TIA! :flower3:

And, to add to the question when/where do you have to do this? I know you must do it before the last day of your ticket expires, but say at park closing on your last day, can you still accomplish this?

In my experience they would just pay the difference for the two additional days. It doesnt matter what they paid for the tickets, just how many days they paid for. However, if they were to upgrade to an AP it would be based on the actual price paid. Hope that makes sense.

I wouldnt push it until closing time. I would go sometime during the day. I would hate to risk getting to the ticket booth to late. I'm not sure when they close for the day. If they know in advance, first thing in the morning is usually pretty good, the lines are short before the park opens.
