Ticket upgrade question

We've bought 3-day park hopper tickets from ARES travel. We may want to upgrade by adding a 4th day (we'll see how we feel). I know this is possible and I know DL will credit the price I've actually paid for the ticket towards the upgraded ticket.

My question is this: will I be charged the full "at the gate" 4-day PH ticket price ($214) or the "advanced ticket price" of $184 (since my 3-day tickets were bought in advance)?

In other words, how much more am I likely to pay for the extra day?

Hi Took, I tried to do this on Wednesday. Had 5-day hoppers bought from ARES, wanted to add a day to it. First CM I asked at the ticket counter said yep it'd be an extra $10 per ticket ... when I went to actually do the upgrade the (different) CM told me it would be $150 extra for one adult and two children, which is the price difference between the advance purchase price I bought the original hoppers for and the "at-gate" price for a six-day hopper

So you'll be charged the difference between the $214 "at-gate" price for the 4-day hopper and whatever you paid for the advance purchase 3-day hopper.

Yes when you upgrade you pay the difference between what you paid and the cost to buy the pass. So any discounts that you got by purchasing in advance gets wiped out.

Also note that the upgrade must be done by the end of the last valid day. Meaning if you have a 3 day you must upgrade by the end of the 3rd day. You can not upgrade on day 4.
