Ticket Upgrade Question *Update 1/28/08*

Can an unused 1-day base ticket from WDW be used to purchase a multi-day PH @ DLR? If so, how would it work with the current special of getting a 5-day for the price of a 3-day?

Update:
I finally just called Guest Services @ Disneyland and was told unused tickets from WDW could definitely be used for admission to DLR, but since they hold no actual monetary value, the price paid for them originally can't be used towards a multi-day PH.

So in our case, we are better off just holding onto the WDW tickets to use during a future visit there, and to purchase advance tickets from DLR to take advantage of the Buy 3 days - get 5 promo running right now.

I don't know why you haven't gotten replies, I've seen answers to this sort of question before!

Alas I don't 100% know. But I have read threads with the question "can I use my base ticket at DLR", and the answer to that has been yes. You can exchange your base ticket for a one-day ticket. If you have more than one base ticket day, you have to exchange them each day.

BUT I don't know if there's upgrade value to them!

Come on WDW/DLR experts, someone's got to know!

I know! I was sure someone would have tried this at DLR. Anyway, if we can upgrade, I'll use them. If not, then I'll just save them for a future trip to WDW. We have about three sets of them and each one would be worth about $70...so I don't think it would be a good value to use one each day @ DLR since they have the Buy3-Get5 ticket promo going on.

Yeah, the promo is probably a better deal, maybe even if you could use those tickets towards a multi-day ticket!

WALT DISNEY WORLD® Resort single and multi-day tickets with remaining
uses should be accepted at the DISNEYLAND® Resort. Please note that
complimentary tickets or Annual Passes to the WALT DISNEY WORLD® Resort
are not valid for admission. Regrettably, we are unable to guarantee the
validity of tickets in advance by e-mail or telephone, as our Cast
Members must physically see the tickets in question. Please present the
tickets to a Cast Member at any Main Entrance turnstile for
verification.

Again, thank you for taking the time to write. We hope you will have the
opportunity to visit the DISNEYLAND® Resort soon and trust your visit
will be pleasant in all regards.

So it seems pretty clear that I can use a 1-day base ticket from WDW...but I still can't get any verification as to whether or not it can be used to upgrade to multi-day PH...ugh, so frustrating!

I am pretty sure you can use it to upgrade to a park hopper...

Hi Laura -- I sure hope so as I would love to use up a set of our 1-day base tickets. We keep accumulating them through all the WDW packages we've booked while we already had AP's to use. I will definitely bring them along with us in April and report back whether or not it was successful.

I have lots of park hoppers with one or two days left on them. I use those for when we bring friends down with us... They never expire so hold onto them for a rainy day

Wow, I didn't know they had park hoppers that didn't expire. All the ones we've ever had said we must use them with in two weeks of the first visit! Or they expire by the first of the next year.

WDW old park hoppers never expired and the new MYW tickets if you BUY the no expire option dont expire...

DLR tickets do expire

Ah I see! Well that stinks, I wish they never expired too! Such a waste if you can't use them all.
