Hi everyone! We will be heading down to WDW in October for a week (Sun - Sat) with myself, my wife, our son and twin daughters.
Additionally, my wife and I will be bringing our son back to WDW in June for Star Wars weekends for 3 additional days.

Originally I was planning to buy 7 day park hoppers + water park tickets for the 5 of us (possibly through MWR / gov discount), but I'm wondering if it makes more sense to buy APs for myself, wife and son? We are DVC members so I believe we get AP discounts.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!!!

Thanks!!

If you are retired or active. Military they extending the 150$ four day park hopper ticket through next year some time. Also the dvc discount is 150$ off per annual pass so you can run the numbers on that. Also the water park annual pass is another 100$ or so.

I'd get 10 day non-expiring tickets will all the additions. That way if something happened and you didn't make it back for Star Wars you would still have the days forever.

Another vote for the 10 day non-expiration hopper with the 10 days of water park admissions. You could use the 10 regular days up on your 2 trips, and have water park admissions left to use for many trips. If you made a couple of days just water park days during your October trip, you might could make the 10 day tickets last thru 3 different trips.

Thanks for the suggestions! My only concern is that the non expiring tickets are almost double the price of the discounted AP it looks like..?

I don't think it is double, but it is more. Plus if you get the AP you can get the discounted rate on the TIW card. If you are sure you will make both trips with-in the year, the AP may end up being cheaper than a 10 day non expiring.

Also, if you go every year, you can try to make the following year's trip just inside the window of your AP and get a 3rd trip out of it.

According to Mousesavers, the 10 day hopper with no expiration is $608. A DVC AP is now $425. Adult prices. Unless you are uncertain about your future trip I would get the AP.

Adding NE to a 10 day park hopper costs about $240 now.

There is no such thing as a "DVC Discount" related to any Annual Passes (No matter what Member Services says).

There are three separate categories (or price ranges) of Annual Passes. The lowest price range is for Florida Residents. There is a higher price range for DVC Members. And the highest price range is "Tourist", which is people who do not qualify for either of the other categories.

And of the six possible DVC Member AP types, the price difference ranges between $115 and $149.

Regular and Premium Annual Passes have the same privileges, no matter which price range they are in.

You might want to look at the Everything About WDW Tickets locked sticky in the TPA&S Forum. Especially the items bolded in the list below.

I'd just buy a 7 day ticket for the first trip and then a 3 day for the second trip. I'd probably buy from Undercover Tourist.

If you are active (or reserve) military, I would suggest getting the Armed Forces Salute tickets and split up the days you are going to the parks. 2 major parks + 2 minor parks this trip and 2 major + 2 minor parks next trip.
Minor parks are the water parks or disney quest.

Are you going to go at all next year? If so the AP would be a good idea.

See if there are YES programs available when you are going- though I suppose they are probably full for October already.
