We just got back from Disneyland and they just have a ticket with a barcode and they scan it and you walk on in. It appears that DisneyWorld does not allow that. We went to DW years ago and you could buy someone else's unused tickets (7 day with 4 left, etc) and go in. That apparently is not possible now, correct??

DW has a finger print scan system. We put or KTTW card through (it scans the barcode) and place your finger on the top of the reader. Then it spits your card out the other side & you go through the turnstyles.

It's not a finger print scanner. It's an "x-ray" type of thing that takes the size of your finger as an image and assigns it to that ticket. So technically someone with the same size finger as you can use your ticket but most of the time it won't work.

Ahhh, thanks for the info! It reminded me of the finger print thing at the DMV, that's why I assumed it was finger printing.

Either way, it's not like you are going to find someone "with the same size finger" to purchase your ticket. So, it certainly doesn't make it easy to do transfers.

Partially used Disneyworld tickets are not transferable. Hence, the finger scanning thing.

Totally unused tickets - you can give them to whoever you want.

Because on the back of the ticket it says 'Nontransferable:must be used by the same person on any and all days.' A little bit further down it says, 'Ticket and ticket tag biometric confirmation required for entry'.

A seven day ticket with four days left is still supposed to be used only by the first person that used it. As a previous poster said, if a ticket has never been activated, then anyone can use it. I have several one day MYW tickets that I've bought at different times over the years (in order to get the DDP during certain promotions). They have never been put into a turnstyle, so anyone could use them. However, only I can use my AP or a ticket that's been used, but still has left over days.

But the OP states unused ticket and then said as an example that they had used a certain number of days & had days left. You were correct when you said this was not allowed since the tickets are clearly marked as non-tranferable and that ticket was partially used.
