Ticket scam!

My sister...bless her heart, is at WDW right now. We will be joining her in 3 days. She calls me up yesterday to tell me that while they were in their hotel (Buena Vista Palace) she and her friend were approached in the lobby by some guy who had two 5 day hopper tix that he and his wife had bought that morning. They only went to MK that morning and wifey-poo got sick so they were leaving but thought they'd try to sell this tix cheap to make back some money. (where is a "red flag" smilie???)

So Dsis and friend plunk down $150 EACH for the tix only to...you guessed it...discover as they try to use them at AK that day that they are used up. So she tries to get Guest Services to give her her money back

They (and I later) explained to her that even if the tix weren't used up, they are tied to his biometric scan and non-transferable anyway. So she's out $150...idiot...

BTW, this same sister doesn't like using Fast Pass. this is gonna be a long trip...

Wonder if it's the same guy who tried to sell us tickets on our way into Epcot last Tuesday? Told him we have our tickets and I'd be willing to bet it's illegal to scalp his.

I really wish they would punch them in some way. I could have swore than during one visit (could have been WDW or DL) there were tiny circles punched for every day we were in the parks. That would make it really obvious how many days it was used to somebody who can't scan them.

It's really sad that people scam other people to make a quick buck. I NEVER buy tickets (for shows, baseball games, WDW, whatever) from anyone just "hanging around." Much too risky for me!!! Some people may get great deals--I would be like you sister and would be out the money!!!

I rememember the punch holes back in the mid-nineties. I don't recall when they did away with it.

Pretty sure it was more recent than that. May have been DL in 2002.
