I'm looking at some tickets that are 2 day both parks. I only need one day at both parks. Would I be able to sell that ticket later? Meaning does universal do anything to indentify you with the ticket like Disney does with the finger scan.

To the best of my knowledge no. We had the buy two day get five day tickets and there was no scans. There is a place to sign the ticket, However we were never told to do so and we never signed them

Universal doesn't have biometrics for their gates....yet. You will need to scan the ticket at the gate though. I have a picture of the scanners if you want to see what they look like.

just got home from US/IOA today and we had the 2 park 2 day/get 2 free tix and on days 2 and 3 we were asked to sign our tix both days.......just an FYI, although we commented on how the attendants had us sign then barely glanced at our signatures....HTH!
