Ticket Question

Myself - DW and DS age - 3.5 will be going to Disneyworld this fall

we are from California and have been to Disneyland 4 times in the last 18 months

We love Disney World but have not been back since DS was born

We have always had annual passes for DL but did not renew this year thinking Disneyworld or a cruise was in order in addition to our yearly trek to Hawaii (Thank goodness for our timeshare - or we would never be able tro afford the second week of vacation)

Here is my question - We are debating our ticket choice and the following question came to mind

If you do the magic your way ticket with no expiration - Can you upgrade that ticket to an annual pass on your second visit

for example - we go in November this year and buy a 7 DAY PLUS PASS - with no expiration and use all days but 1

When we return next year would we be able to upgrade that ticket to an annual pass - if so would the ap begin the date we first used our ticket or the day of the upgrade

If I am seeing this correctly - the 10 day no expiration is not that diffrent from the AP - so we would get a full year of use plus our first vacation for the just the cost of the AP

Am I missing something?

I believe if you upgrade a ticket they only credit you the value of the unused portion....so you wouldn't get the full value, only the days you didn't use.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong!

If your upgrade is done within 14 days of first use, they will apply the entire purchase price of your ticket towards the AP. The expiration date will be backdated to reflect the first day that the original ticket was used.

If you want to do this after the 14 days have passed, you will only get a dollar credit for the unused major park admissions that you can apply towards the AP. The AP will begin the day you do the exchange. It is not backdated under these circumstances. You would of course have had to put the no expiration option on the original ticket to do this. If you did not and you got past the 14th day after first use, you are completely out of luck.
