Ticket Question

My sister and I were down in Disney last weekend. We had a 2-day park hopper that was comped to us by Disney. It was before Disney changed up the ticket policy, and they were good through 2030.

Shortly after entering DHS on 1/26 (what would have been day 1 of the 2-day park hopper), my mom called saying that dad had been rushed to the hospital. We scrambled to change our flight and get home ASAP. Unfortunately, dad passed that night.

I shouldn't care about the money. I don't, honestly. I overpaid to get me and my sister home to be with dad before he passed. But now that a week has passed and I'm getting my financials in order, I figured I'd look into the Disney trip and figure out what's going on with our Disney trip: if I can get a refund on the night we didn't stay at Coronado (booked through Hotels.com) and if I can get that day back from our 2-day park hopper.

My main question is this: if we used one day from our 2-day park hopper, will our 2-day hopper expire or will one day remain on there for future use?

After what we went through, it'll be a long time until we can return to Disney... but dad loved that place and raised us there, so he wouldn't want us to never go again.

Nobody can say.
Nobody knows what Disney will re-issue (if anything) for a "comp" ticket.

So sorry to hear about your father.

Very sorry about your loss, we recently lost my Mom and WDW was one of her favorite places. It was very difficult fro me visiting this year knowing I'll never be there with her again.

I would call Disney and ask for a supervisor. Tell them what happened, see if they'll credit the room and ask about your tickets. The worst that could happen is they say no, but maybe they'll work something out in your favor. Again, my sympathy's.

The official policy would be that you are not eligible for any type of refund on either, and the second day on the ticket expires 14 days after the first day you used the ticket.

But the only way to know whether Disney would make an exception to the policy in your case is to call them and explain the situation. Especially with a comped ticket, and a room booked on a third-party website, any answer here would be pure speculation.

I am sorry for your loss, and hope you are able to return to Disney sometime in the future, with your memories of happier times there with your father.
