Ticket question

I go to Disney about once every 4-6 weeks and use MY DAS card all the time they always take 10 minutes off the return time not sure why you think they do not but if you see it not happening ask the CM why.

and they will give you your first return time when going to GR ( I have to stop by just about every visit either to renew my DAS or add someone on) the GR CM about 90% of the time will ask me what ride I am going on and add it if they do not then I asked them. The only time they do not do this is if you are stopping by before the park opens like MK they open Main street an hour before the park opens if you stop by then they will not have a time for you since the park is not opened and there are no ride times. Since the OP will be getting there around noon they should have no problem asking for a return time to start with.

We have not had 10 minutes taken off the DAS time for years (at least not since they were added to MB's and no longer paper cards). It really doesn't matter to us. We typically don't do the DAS ride as soon as the window opens, so 10 minutes doesn't make much of a difference. Once, when they were still using the paper cards a CM at Soarin' ADDED 10 minutes to the time. It just wasn't worth arguing over, so I let it go. I'm just grateful my DS has one as it typically means we can get 4 rides in (instead of 3 with just FP+) before he has had it in the park for the day.

We haven't gotten a return time when initially stopping to get the DAS renewed in years. Maybe it has to do with which window we are using? We typically renew at the EP IG entrance and it's typically in the afternoon as our flight always lands late morning and that is always our first park. I guess it never hurts to ask! Again, it never really mattered to us. We usually FP+ a tier 1 (Soarin' or TT) and just swing by the one we didn't FP+ to get the DAS return time on the way to the FP+ ride.

It sounds like there just isn't a lot of consistency. Again, I'm just glad we have it because it does make touring slightly easier.

Just to avoid any disappointment, the purpose of a DAS pass is NOT to avoid waiting in lines. Its purpose is to provide a "placeholder" in the line for the individual who CANNOT be in the actual physical line (due to an large ECV or maybe because they go into a PTSD episode in a dark queue ; you have to explain WHY they need the DAS because a diagnosis is not enough proof).

You will be waiting in line for a whole host of things, including, but not limited to: Tickets and Transportation trams, Security, Guest Services, the Turnstiles, any restaurant, outdoor kiosks that sell toys and food, stroller parking, elevators, gift shops, Park Transportation of all kids, Rides, Attractions, the Parade, other shows, Dance Parties, Character Meets annnnnnnnnnnnnnd not least, the BATHROOMS! Pretty much, Disney is standing in one line or another! LOL

The only people who get to head right up to "the front of the line" are VIP Guests and you would know if you had shelled out that kind of cash. ;)
She's used this every time she's been to Disney, so I don't think there will be a problem getting her one on this trip. We'll bring her iPad which will help a lot. She said she's too old for character meet and greets, but i do have a couple fast passes so her younger sister can go. For bathrooms I'm pretty good at finding ones out of the way that aren't as crowded so we'll try and use those.

Another question. Can we use the DAS while we still have our three fast pass rides? Or does it not start working until we've used all of them?

Yes, you can, I will often have an FP for ToT and on my way pick up a DAS for RNR. You can even have a DAS and FP for the same ride, I do this sometimes too. You can only have one DAS pass at a time.

Ok thanks! It might be a little difficult to get her on a roller coaster, but we'll see.

I was just using it as an example you do not have to do what I do. She can have any DAS return time she wants whenever the park is opened.
