Is there a way to buy the Flex Ticket through Undercover Tourist and still get Unlimited Express? We have a timeshare so staying on property for Universal would not make sense for us. I am very nervous about the early entry and express ticket. Almost to the point of not wanting to go. We will be traveling in early August 2014 because of sports and school schedules. Is it even worth it to go to Universal without staying on property at that time of year? We are a family of six and from what I can tell there isn't even a room that would sleep all of us on property.

It will be worth it next summer to stay onsite..Harry Potter Expansion is opening and that will bring HUGE crowds to Universal resort. You can look into Cabana Bay resort ( which is opening this year and is mostly value/moderate rooms and suites). You will get early entry with it, but it will NOT have the express pass for resort guests

Considering the cost of the express passes, I think the value of staying onsite is phenomenal. It's at the very least worth considering reserving one night onsite, in addition to your condo, just to get the express passes for 2 days of your stay. You can stay on site or return to your other resort, but you have your 2 days of express passes covered, probably for a lot cheaper than paying the $89.99 a day per person.

If I am a family of six and get a room at Universal that sleeps up to five, won't I only get five express passes?

if you booked the hospitality suite or a suite at pbh, they hold 6.

it would be cheaper to book two rooms with them connnecting.

each person in the standard room, which has the maximum of 5, would receive a hotel room key.

the room key is what is needed to create the express pass.

So is the answer no to the question of using a flex ticket through undercover tourist and purchasing express pass? I think we have determined that I would need to book two rooms to get express pass by staying on property.

You can buy the express passes once you get there if you choose not to stay on the property. You could also book one room and then buy the 1 extra express pass for the 6th person, rather than pay for a second room.

You can buy regular express and get your tickets from UCT..You CAN also buy the unlimited Express and flex tickets from UCT...BUT you have to purchase the Unlimited express pass at the park. You can not buy the unlimited express pass ahead of time unless you buy it bundled with park tickets. To figure out rough cost, go to the Unviersal website and find out what the basic express costs for that day.Add to it approx $20 more than the listed cost.Just remember that they are DATE AND PARK specific unless you buy both parks, then they are only date specific
Just realize that prices may definitely go up for this perk when the Harry Potter expansion is completed. You are looking to go next early August.Early August is very very busy now.Next summer it will probably be moreso.

I shudder to think how busy the Studios will be next summer and into the fall once HP2 opens. :crazy2:

I know! After this trip in a few weeks ,We are looking at another trip December 2014 or Jan 2015..I am waiting to see how things trend first.

if the person only books the onsite one room, and buys an express for #6, where would that 6th person stay?

off site?

Well, I was thinking more of if they reserve one night on site just for the passes, since they already have a week at their condo...
