I have a quick question. I wanted to buy tickets to DL before we leave for our vacation over New Years. We are staying at on property GCH. My question is how will I be able to use fast passes if I buy my tickets before hand? This is all new to us. We are WDW goers and buy annual passes there so don't have to think about it too much.

Thanks!!

If you buy tickets online from Disneyland.com, they email you a PDF ticket. You print that out and take it to the turnstiles like any other ticket. At the turnstiles, they will scan it then exchange it for a paper ticket that you use to get FP's.

If you buy e-tickets through Disney's site they will email you a voucher. You take the voucher straight to the turnstyle where they will scan it and exchange it for a paper ticket that fits the FP machines.

If you buy from another sources (getawaytoday.com or ares travel for example) they email you a voucher that you must exchange at a ticket booth. You most likely can exchange them at the front desk of the GCH too. They will give you the paper tickets to use at the gates and FP machines.

You can also just wait till you arrive at the GCH and buy your tickets right at the front desk when you check in...no papers to remember, no ticket booths, no waiting to get tickets...and you have them in hand. Not sure that most people know that you can but tickets and AP's from the resort front desks when you check in.

Yes but are you missing out on advanced purchase or promotional pricing?

3Minnies is right, you can save about $15 per ticket if you buy online before you get to your hotel.

We got our last set of tickets from AAA, we received a paper printout (I purchased from my AAA office) and when we got to the gate we simply exchanged it for an actual park ticket. We then upgraded from 3 day to 4 day hoppers, from 4 day to 5 day hoppers and then again to AP's. :)
