Is there a discount to purchase Disneyland tickets online prior to arriving or is it the same cost at the gate?

Yes there is a discount to prepurchase online tickets 3-6 days. If you choose the "e-ticket" option they'll email you a ticket with a barcode that you print out and take straight to the turnstyles. There they will exchange it for the small cardstock ticket to use in the FP machine.

Yes ~ I'm aware of that, too bad not all pre purchased tickets work that way. My Mom and brother purchased 1 day hoppers through www.disneyland.com a couple years ago chose the E ticket option and went straight to the turnstyles.
