I have found that it is less expensive to purchase an 8 day base ticket than a four day park hopper from AAA.

I assume the answer is "No", but I have to ask...Can I use the eight day base ticket for two entries in one day?

Unfortunately, no. You will be denied entrance at the gate if you try to visit another park on the same day. If it were that easy, everyone would forego hoppers in favor of longer base tickets.

That is why it is called an eight DAY ticket and not an eight ADMISSION ticket.

per the Everything About WDW Tickets thread:

A Base Ticket is one that will allow a particular guest access to one major theme park per day up to the maximum number of entitlements per ticket. A base ticket may have anywhere from one to ten days of admission. There are three options which may be purchased with a base ticket; each bear a relationship to the base ticket. Note that Base Ticket days cannot be used as entries to any of the minor parks.

No MYW ticket may have more than ten major park days of entitlements, unused or used, on it.

You are allowed to re-enter the same park if you leave it on one day, but it can only be used at the one park.

If you put the ticket in the turnstile of another park the display on the Guest side of the turnstile will be "ACCESS DENIED". The top line of the display on the Greeter side will give information about the ticket, and the second line of the display will say "CROSSOVER NOT PERMITTED". The turnstile will not unlock.

I have always argued the point that in MY OPINION the best park ticket option is to buy a 10 day park hopper with no expiration date.

That no expiration feature has gone up recently. It's not a flat rate like it used to be.

a 10 day park hopper with no expiration date

back in 2005, one of these was $350 for an adult.

now it's $577 discounted and over $600 at the gate.

not the deal it used to be...

Agreed, our AP's expire at the end of September and thanks to an impulse free dining stay over Labor Day weekend, I'll have some 2 day tickets to either use or "convert" when we go back in December. I looked at the price of the 10 day no expiration and was stunned.
